Future climates are simulated by general circulation models (GCM) using climate change scenarios (IPCC 2014). To project climate change for the sagebrush biome, we used 11 GCMs and two climate change scenarios from the IPCC Fifth Assessment, representative concentration pathways (RCPs) 4.5 and 8.5 (Moss et al. 2010, Van Vuuren et al. 2011). RCP4.5 scenario represents a future where climate policies limit and achieve stabilization of greenhouse gas concentrations to 4.5 W m-2 by 2100. This dataset is based on U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) resource assessments for “undiscovered” natural gas liquid resources, which are resources that have not yet been extensively proven by drilling (USGS 2014). Individual resource assessments describe the amount of petroleum resources in units with similar geologic features. We quantified the density of natural gas liquid resources by adding together the amounts in spatially overlapping assessment units and dividing these totals by polygon areas. This dataset provides the results of an assessment of estuary habitat condition in the conterminous United States. To analyze estuary condition, a cumulative disturbance index was developed based on habitat stressor variable data available at a national scale for anthropogenic disturbances measured within estuaries and their associated watersheds. Twenty-eight variables were combined within stressor categories to develop four sub-indices of disturbance for land use, alterations of river flows, pollution sources, and estuary eutrophication. The Simeulue cluster is named for the island of Simeulue off the north coast of Sumatra, Indonesia. The cluster is based on 33 events recorded by a temporary network of OBS's from October 2005 to February 2006 to record aftershocks of the Mw 8.6 earthquake of March 28, 2005 (Nias-Simeulue), which was itself probably triggered by the great Sumatra earthquake of December 26, 2004 (Mw 9.1). The Nias-Simeulue earthquake is included in the cluster. Readings from the OBS network (kindly provided by Frederick Tilmann, GFZ Potsdam) provide the calibration of the cluster, which was expanded with moderate-sized events since 2006 to improve the set of teleseismic arrival time data. The Caldiran cluster is named after the town of Cadiran in the district of Van, Turkey. This cluster consists of 83 events, including the magnitude 7.3 Caldiran earthquake on November 24, 1976 and five of its aftershocks, as well as several recent moderate magnitude events in 2000s, the largest being the magnitude 5.1 October 20, 2003 earthquake. A. Ghods repicked many of the arrival times from Iranian networks, including S-P data from the INSM network of accelerometers (BHRC). Using funds from an NRDAR settlement, FWS obligated $557,810 ($2011) to TNC of Massachusetts for the purchase of permanent conservation easements on approximately 200 acres of riparian lands along the Housatonic River in Salisbury, Connecticut. Conservation of riparian habitat will help to (1) protect water quality; (2) protect nesting habitat for migratory songbirds and other wildlife, including several rare and endangered plants, turtles, salamanders and dragonflies; and (3) maintain the scenic, agrarian character of the region. Background information.—On July 8, 2012, lightning ignited a fire on Bureau of Land Management-managed land on the Miller Homestead in Harney County, Oregon. High winds combined with unusually hot and dry conditions spread the fire through dry grass and sagebrush and 160,801 acres were burned before the fire was contained on July 24, 2012. In the aftermath, it was determined that ecological restoration was necessary since the majority of the fire occurred within prime habitat for sage-grouse, and the fire had burned with such severity that it removed vegetation down to bare soil. The Toktogul cluster is named for town of Toktogul, Kyrgyzstan, and the nearby Reservoir of the same name. The cluster is divided into two subclusters, one north of the reservoir and one to the south. The cluster includes the Ms 7.3 earthquake on August 18, 1992 that devastated the town of Susamyr about 40 km to the east, and a half-dozen of the larger aftershocks. On December 22, 2009 a large (4.4 mb) chemical explosion was used in the construction of the hydroelectric dam that created the Toktogul Reservoir.
