Digital flood-inundation maps for selected streams in Stark County were created by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District and the Stark County Commissioners as part of a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Flood Insurance Study (FIS). The flood-inundation maps show estimates of the areal extent corresponding to the 1% and 0.2% annual-exceedance probability floods. Flood profiles were computed for the stream reach by means of the one-dimensional step-backwater model.

Digital flood-inundation maps for an approximate 4-mile (mi) reach of Nimishillen Creek near North Industry, Ohio were created by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District and the Stark County Commissioners. The flood-inundation maps, which can be accessed through the USGS Flood Inundation Mapping Science Web site at http://water.usgs.gov/osw/flood_inundation/, depict estimates of the areal extent and depth of flooding corresponding to selected water levels (stages) at the USGS streamgage, Nimishillen Creek at North Industry (03118500). Near-real-time stages at these streamgages can be obtained on the internet from the USGS National Water Information System...

ScienceBase brings together the best information it can find about USGS researchers and offices to show connections to publications, projects, and data. We are still working to improve this process and information is by no means complete. If you don't see everything you know is associated with you, a colleague, or your office, please be patient while we work to connect the dots. Feel free to contact sciencebase@usgs.gov.
