This dataset contains data in support of a study by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, to describe water-quality characteristics of the Red River of the North and tributaries prior to construction of the Flood Risk Management Project in the Fargo-Moorhead metropolitan area. This dataset contains bacteria data for ten sites supplied by the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality, pesticide data for five sites supplied by the North Dakota Department of Agriculture, results from quality control samples collected at ten sites by the USGS as well as files necessary to run loads for ten sites and seven constituents published in U.S. Geological Scientific Investigations...

This child page contains a zipped folder which contains all of the items necessary to run load estimation using R-LOADEST to produce results that are published in U.S. Geological Survey Investigations Report 2022-5013 [Tatge, W.S., Nustad, R.A., and Galloway, J.M., 2022, Evaluation of Salinity and Nutrient Conditions in the Heart River Basin, North Dakota, 1970-2020: U.S. Geological Survey Scientific Investigations Report 2022-5013]. The folder contains an allsiteinfo.table.csv file, a "datain" folder, and a "scripts" folder. The allsiteinfo.table.csv file can be used to cross reference the sites with the main report (Tatge and others, 2022). The "datain" folder contains all the input data necessary to reproduce...
The North Dakota State Water Commission and International Joint Commission partnered with USGS to characterize the climate and streamflow in the Souris River Basin and develop a set of daily streamflow traces from 10-day stochastic streamflow traces discussed in Kolars and others (2016).The Kolars and others (2016) dataset is provided and was used to determine the statistical characteristics of historical and stochastically generated climate variables and streamflow in the Souris River Basin from the headwaters of the Souris River Basin in Saskatchewan through Minot, N. Dak. Stochastic streamflow presented in this dataset can be characterized as either regulated or natural (unregulated) streamflow. The natural streamflow...

A comprehensive study to evaluate salinity and nutrient conditions in the Heart River Basin, North Dakota was completed by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with the Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Grant County Soil Conservation District. In this dataset three zipped folders are provided which contain all files necessary to run trend, load, and geochemical models and produce results published in U.S. Geological Scientific Investigations Report 2022-5013 [Tatge, W.S., Nustad, R.A., and Galloway, J.M., 2022, Evaluation of Salinity and Nutrient Conditions in the Heart River Basin, North Dakota, 1970-2020: U.S. Geological Survey Scientific Investigations Report 2022-5013]. In addition,...
ScienceBase brings together the best information it can find about USGS researchers and offices to show connections to publications, projects, and data. We are still working to improve this process and information is by no means complete. If you don't see everything you know is associated with you, a colleague, or your office, please be patient while we work to connect the dots. Feel free to contact sciencebase@usgs.gov.
