Water used for hydraulic fracturing treatments in and near the Williston Basin during 2000-2015, was estimated using data reported in IHS Markit (TM) (2016). Hydraulic fracturing treatment data from IHS Markit (TM) (2016) may include volumes in a variety of measurement units, and they may include multiple treatments per well. All listed treatments within the study area were converted to gallons and summed on a per-well basis, discounting any treatments for which the specified measurement units were unclear (for example, “sacks”, or “feet”), which were minor. Of 3,734,380 treatments listed within the study area during the timeframe of interest, 0.7% (26,373 records) were not included. For each well, the date listed...

This data release contains historical SnowModel (Liston and Elder, 2006) output for the Crown of the Continent and surrounding areas in Montana and Idaho, USA; and Alberta and British Columbia, Canada from September 1, 1981 through August 31, 2020. Fifteen daily variables were simulated or derived for this release: (1) snow water equivalent (swed), (2) liquid precipitation (rpre), (3) solid precipitation (spre), (4) albedo (albd), (5) glacial ice melt (glmt), (6) total precipitation (prec), (7) runoff (roff), (8) snow covered area (sca), (9) snow density (sden), (10) snowmelt (smlt), (11) snow depth (snod), (12) snow sublimation (ssub), (13) air temperature (tair), (14) wind speed (wspd), and (15) wind direction...

This data release documents the data used for the associated publication "Evaluating hydrologic region assignment techniques for ungaged watersheds in Alaska, USA" (Barnhart and others, 2022) The data sets within this release are stored in 14 files: (1) Streamflow observations and sites used. (2) Statistically estimated streamflow values computed for each site. (3) Streamflow statistics computed from observed and estimated streamflow values at each site, basin characteristics for each site, and hydrologic regions (clusters) for each site. (4) A dataset describing the optimal number of hydrologic regions into which the considered sites were grouped. (5) P-values from a multiple comparisons analysis testing for statistical...
