The availability of groundwater-quality data for relatively deep wells (wells generally more than 300 feet deep) containing saline water (dissolved-solids concentrations greater than 2,000 milligrams per liter) is limited throughout the state of Texas. Water-quality samples are important for calibrating estimates of groundwater salinity derived from geophysical well logs. Water-quality data collected in 2021 from four wells completed in selected aquifers (Trinity, Carrizo-Wilcox, and Yegua-Jackson) in Texas are included in this data release.

In May 2021, the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, logged 9 previously drilled boreholes in the bedrock beneath Bull Shoals Dam with acoustic and optical televiewer geophysical methods. The acoustic and optical televiewer logging results were used to identify fractures and small bedding planes in the bedrock beneath the dam using the image and structure interpretation module of Well CAD (v.5.4). This data release consists of each geophysical log in standard log American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII) text (.las) format and a comma separated (.csv) file detailing the fracture and bedding plane analysis completed on each geophysical log.

This data release contains geophysical data and well and borehole driller's logs acquired at a small field site in the Llano Uplift of central Texas. The field site is underlain by the unconfined Precambrian Granite Gravel aquifer and the Precambrian Town Mountain Granite bedrock from which the Granite Gravel Aquifer was derived through chemical and mechanical weathering. The data set consists of five types of data in the quantities indicated: (1) 1 time-domain electromagnetic sounding, (2) 441 self-potential measurements, (3) 2 electrical resistivity tomography profiles, (4) 2 seismic refraction tomography profiles, and (5) 4 driller's logs (obtained from 2 wells and 2 shallow boreholes). The data were collected...

This data release contains self-potential (SP), electrical resistivity tomography (ERT), and water temperature and conductivity data measured during a geophysical survey at the Krause Springs property in Spicewood, Texas. The geophysical survey was completed February 4–15, 2019, over approximately 3.1 acres on the western side of the property adjacent to the main visitor parking lot and entrance facilities. SP data were measured on the land surface within the survey area to locate SP anomalies attributed to groundwater flow. The locations and spatial distribution of the discovered SP anomalies were used to orient four ERT profiles to intersect the SP anomalies. Two ERT profiles, consisting of 84 stainless steel...
