North America Digital Elevation Model represents an elevation map for North America derived from the global digital elevation model (DEM) - GTOPO30 data sets from the U.S. Geological Survey's EROS Data Center Distributed Active Archive Center (EDC DAAC). The VALUE attribute represents the elevation in meters.North America Digital Elevation Model provides a base map layer displaying elevation information of North America for geographic analysis on regional and national scales

The existence, sources, distribution, circulation, and physicochemical nature of macro-scale oceanic water bodies have long been a focus of oceanographic inquiry. Building on that work, this paper describes an objectively derived and globally comprehensive set of 37 distinct volumetric region units, called ecological marine units (EMUs). They are constructed on a regularly spaced ocean point-mesh grid, from sea surface to seafloor, and attributed with data from the 2013 World Ocean Atlas version 2. The point attribute data are the means of the decadal averages from a 57-year climatology of six physical and chemical environment parameters (temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, nitrate, phosphate, and silicate)....

The Appalachian region is rich in biodiversity that is highly threatened by energy production, development, and a host of other factors. Large-scale impacts such as climate change will play out within this context, affecting habitats and species in different ways. Understanding the vulnerability of various species and habitats within the Appalachian LCC to such changes is of critical importance. Identifying the steps needed to acquire vulnerability information and then using this information to inform adaptation and mitigation strategies is a major research priority of the LCC.The Appalachian LCC provided a grant to NatureServe to conduct critical vulnerability assessments. Researchers first convened a panel of...
