The North American Amphibian Monitoring Program (NAAMP) was a collaborative citizen science effort between the US Geological Survey (USGS) and 26 Partners (state agencies, universities, and nonprofits) for monitoring calling amphibian populations over much of the eastern and central United States. Initiated in 1997 in response to needs set forth by the Declining Amphibian Populations Task Force in 1994 regarding increased anecdotal observations of global amphibian declines, NAAMP was designed to provide scientifically and statistically defensible, long-term distribution and trends data for calling amphibian populations at the state and regional level in the United States. The USGS discontinued coordination of the...

The data include concentrations of current use pesticides in tissues of larval wood frog (Lithobates sylvaticus) and spotted salamander (Ambystoma maculatum) and the presence of ranavirus in wood frogs and spotted salamanders from three northeastern National Wildlife Refuges sampled in 2013 and 2014. The data also include estrogenicity, protein phosphatase 2A inhibition and a suite of 15 major and minor elements in sediment screened using portable X-Ray Fluorescence. The data include sediment and tissue samples collected from 16 wetlands at the Patuxent Research Refuge (PRR) in central Maryland, USA, 15 wetlands at the Assabet River and Oxbow National Wildlife Refuges (EMASS) in eastern Massachusetts, USA, and nine...

This dataset contains count and detection-nondetection data of Barred Owls from 106 historical breeding territories of Northern Spotted Owl territories (i.e. sites) in the Oregon Coast Ranges from 1995 to 2016. Data collected from 1995 to 2014 are partitioned into 2-week periods from 1 March – 31 August each year, totaling 12 possible sampling periods per year. Data collected from 2015 and 2016 are partitioned into 2-month periods from 1 March – 31 August, totaling 3 possible sampling periods each year. This dataset also describes the proportion of total area surveyed per site per sampling period in 2015 and 2016, as well as the proportion of each site with older coniferous forest in each year (1995 – 2016).
