Regional Geochemical Results from the Analyses of Rock, Water, Soil, Stream Sediment, and Vegetation Samples -- Fortymile River Watershed, East-Central Alaska, 1998 Sampling INTRODUCTION This report briefly describes and presents geochemical and biogeochemical data for a cooperative study in the Fortymile Mining District, east central Alaska. This study is being funded by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Mineral Resources Program through Fiscal Year 2001. Cooperative funds are being provided from various State of Alaska sources through the Alaska Department of Natural Resources. Results for the first field season completed in June 1997 are presented in Crock and others (1999). The study's second field season was completed in June 1998 and the results of the sample analyses for this phase of the study are presented here. Results of elemental and stable isotopic measurements, and dietary composition of Arctic grayling (Thymallus arcticus) collected in 2000 and 2001 from the Fortymile River watershed, Alaska We report the results of the elemental and stable isotopic analyses, as well as the composition of stomach contents, of Arctic grayling ( Thymallus arcticus), an ecologically important resident freshwater sport and subsistence fish in the Fortymile River Mining District of the Interior Highlands Ecoregion in eastern Alaska. These data are presented here as a data compilation with minimal interpretation or discussion. Further analyses of the data will be presented elsewhere. The study area has been mined for placer gold for over a century and is currently experiencing renewed mineral exploration activity. Regional Geochemical Results from Analyses of Stream-Water, Stream-Sediment, Soil, Soil-Water, Bedrock, and Vegetation Samples, Tangle Lakes District, Alaska. Prepared in cooperation with Alaska Department of Natural Resources We report chemical analyses of stream-water, stream-sediment, soil, soil-water, bedrock, and vegetation samples collected from the headwaters of the Delta River (Tangle Lakes District, Mount Hayes 1:250,000-scale quadrangle) in east-central Alaska for the period June 20-25, 2006. Additionally, we present mineralogic analyses of stream sediment, concentrated by panning.
