This dataset comprises repeat surveys of field-saturated hydraulic conductivity and sorptivity following the October 2017 Nuns and Tubbs wildfires as part of an effort to document soil-hydraulic recovery. A summary table includes associated physiographic properties for each site, including: pre-burn vegetation, lithology, soil burn severity, location, soil texture, and associated van Genuchten parameters determined using Carsel and Parrish (1988). Soil-hydraulic properties were calculated using the model of Zhang (1997) and Vandervaere et al. (2000). We separately include the raw cumulative infiltration measurements used for the calculation of soil-hydraulic properties. Lastly, this dataset includes a survey of...

This project will build on a nascent Landscape Connectivity Network facilitated by Pepperwood and comprised of land trusts, parks and open space districts, with state and federal land managers. In partnership with UC Berkeley, the network will build a place-based decision support platform for prioritizing and implementing habitat connectivity projects on the ground across multiple jurisdictions. The product will be a science-based prioritization of critical habitat pinch-points co-created with local land managers that identifies threatened linkages in high value habitat corridors. Specific products generated will include a region-wide prioritization of threatened linkages complemented by linkage-specific portfolio...

The Watershed Analyst lets you access climate and hydrology data to help your community get climate ready. The Watershed Analyst accesses the best science available to provide our region’s first high resolution resource for looking at the effects of climate on water resources and open spaces. This project taps into the knowledgebase of TBC3, the Terrestrial Biodiversity Climate Change Consortium, a Bay Area interdisciplinary research collaborative funded by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation. Data provided can be a helpful tool for teachers, students, planners, and researchers. For more information on the peer-reviewed research base of the watershed toolbox see tbc3.org.You can explore historic climate and water...

As the predicted impacts of climate change are becoming more apparent, natural resource managers are faced with the task of developing climate adaptation plans. These managers need state-of-the-art, scientifically based information upon which to base these management plans and decisions consistently across California and the Great Basin. This project applies historical, current, and projected climate data to a regional water model to examine water availability, biodiversity, and conservation. Analysis of this climate and hydrology data is expected to help managers understand areas in the region and landscape where the effects of climate change are expected to be the most profound. The study also addresses how the...
