Climate warming is becoming an increasingly well-accepted phenomenon, and its impacts will become clearer over the next century. Lake trout Salvelinus namaycush will not escape the influence of climate warming and it is thought that high productivity areas for lake trout should shift northward. Results of this study suggest that these high productivity areas will be further north that the southern Yukon Territory, as an overall decrease in lake trout productivity is expected in this region as a result of decreasing availability of optimal thermal habitat.
