This dataset consists of raster images produced by the University of New Orleans for and funded by the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources Office of Coastal Restoration and Managegment (LDNR/OCRM Contract No. 2512-06-06). The original raster dataset was clipped to the updated boundary of the BA-38 CWPPRA project (Pelican Island and Pass La Mer to Chaland Pass) for Chaland Island. These raster datasets are a component of the deliverables necessary to fullfill requirements for the University of New Orleans under the scope of services specified in the Statewide Barrier Island Comprehensive Monitoring (BICM) Program. The raster data provides LDNR/OCRM with short term and near term habitat configurations for five...

The Louisiana State Legislature created Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection, and Restoration Act (CWPPRA) in order to conserve, restore, create and enhance Louisiana's coastal wetlands. The wetland restoration plans developed pursuant to these acts specifically require an evaluation of the effectiveness of each coastal wetlands restoration project in achieving long-term solutions to arresting coastal wetlands loss. This data set includes mosaicked aerial photographs for the Pelican Island and Pass La Mer to Chaland Pass Resoration (BA-38) project for 2005, 2007, 2011, and 2013. This data is used as a basemap habitat classification. It also serves as a visual tool for project managers to help them identify any...

This dataset is a compilation of completed, in progress, and planned restoration projects identified in the study area by the Deepwater Horizon (DWH) Project Tracker as of March 2022. The goal of compiling projects and information was to identify target resources and impacts of these projects in the study area. Projects were screened for action types, completion year, and resources intended to benefit from restoration in barrier island and shoreline systems. In addition, system components of structure and function were identified. The potential for geomorphological impacts was categorized among different types of projects.

The study area included the coasts of all five U.S. states along the northern Gulf of Mexico (i.e., Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas). We contacted federal, state, and university-affiliated scientists working with SET-MH data within this area to obtain the geographic coordinates and the installation year for each SET-MH station. Please note that while our inventory is extensive and includes most SET-MH stations in the region, our inventory is not fully exhaustive; in other words, it is possible that some stations in the region are not contained within this inventory. The SET-MH stations in our dataset include original SET, deep rod SET (RSET), and shallow RSET benchmarks.
