This dataset contains standardized in-situ soil moisture measurements from four sparse soil moisture monitoring networks in the South Central United States. This includes measurements in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana. The raw soil moisture measurements from a total of 220 stations over the four states were obtained from the Oklahoma Mesonet, West Texas Mesonet, USDA Soil Climate Analysis Network and NOAA Climate Reference Network. The measurements have been screened using the Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QAQC) process that is described in Quiring et al. (2016).
