This data release provides gradient self-potential (SP), conductivity, and temperature measurements made during an investigation of surface-water and groundwater exchange in Lake Travis near Austin, Texas, where the Colorado River is incised into two zones of the Cretaceous-age Trinity aquifer (the lower-zone, and several hydrostratigraphic units of the middle zone). The voltage, temperature, and conductivity data contained herein were continuously logged along three longitudinal profiles with the logging sensors positioned at depths of 3.0 and 6.1 meters vertically below the surface of Lake Travis, and in a cove along a fourth continuous, non-linear profile of intersecting tracks with the logging sensors positioned...

This data release contains geophysical and water-quality property data measured by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) along downstream continuous profiles in surveyed reaches of Elm Brook, Hartwell Brook, and the Shawsheen River near Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, Massachusetts. The geophysical data consist of spatial profiles of waterborne self-potential (WaSP) voltages attributed to changes in electrical potential along the respective reaches of each stream. The water-quality data consist of spatial profiles of temperature, specific conductance, turbidity, pH, and optical dissolved-oxygen concentration measured in situ in the streams on September 8 and September 10, 2023. A 190-meter (m) long reach of Hartwell...

Water level, water temperature, and specific conductance data were collected during natural gradient tests on six observation wells screened in the upper transmissive zone of the Ogallala aquifer at the North East 2nd Street Superfund site in Happy, Texas, from November 6-13, 2023. Tests involved gravity draining 100-160 gallons of a low-concentration salt-spiked solution with an associated specific conductance of less than 8,000 microsiemens per centimeter (µs/cm) into the wells, measuring water level responses, and recording continuous downhole water temperature and water conductivity (specific conductance). Gravity drainage of the salt-spiked solution into each well took approximately 1 hour at average rates...

A three-dimensional, finite-difference MODFLOW 2005 groundwater model using the Newton formulation solver (MODFLOW-NWT) was created for the Cimarron River alluvial aquifer in Payne County, north-central Oklahoma to assess the impacts of current groundwater withdrawal rates with respect to current and future groundwater availability and the impacts to baseflow to the Cimarron River. To better understand current (2021) water resources and possible future water availability in the Pawnee Nation Tribal jurisdictional area, the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma, compiled available hydrogeologic data and developed conceptual and numerical groundwater-flow...

This data release consists of historical borehole geophysical data collected by various entities and digitized by the U.S. Geological Survey to characterize the physical properties of the subsurface in and near the Mississippi Alluvial Plain from Louisiana to Missouri. The geophysical log data were collected by different Federal, state, and local agencies throughout the area and were obtained from three sources: Hart and Clark (2008), the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) (Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality, 2019), and the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources (LADNR). The log data generally consisted of either scanned .jpg or .tif images of the original log. The data were digitized...
