Summary

This dataset (located by latitude and longitude) is a subset of the geochemical dataset found in Chap. F, Appendix 7, Disc 1, and used in this study of the Fire Clay coal zone. That dataset is a compilation of data from the U.S. Geological Survey's (USGS) National Coal Resources Data System (NCRDS) USCHEM (U.S. geoCHEMical), and the Kentucky Geological Survey (KGS) Kentucky Coal Resources Information System (KCRIS) databases. Purpose

The purpose of Professional Paper 1625-C is to release the interpretation of assessment and modeling data for the top-producing coal beds in the northern and central Appalachian Basin coal regions. The dataset has been generalized and is useful only in regional studies. Individuals who do not have an internet connection to access the detailed data coverages interactively through GeoDE or who cannot use the ARC/INFO export covers provided on Disc 2 can use this coverage to obtain limited information on the Fire Clay coal zone. The presented data for the Fire Clay coal must be considered provisional, because the correlation of the zone continues to be evaluated in West Virginia.
