Summary
Note: This data release is currently being revised and is temporarily unavailable. This data release contains aggregated data records documenting the implementation of USDA conservation practices on farms within the Chesapeake Bay watershed. The data are supplied as annual totals aggregated by county, and by eight digit hydrologic unit code (HUC-8) watershed. The initial data release covers 2007-2017, and updates are planned for December of each year. The data provided here, and the processes used to aggregate them, are thoroughly described in "Agricultural conservation practice implementation in the Chesapeake Bay watershed supported by the U.S. Department of Agriculture" by Hively and others (2018) available at https://doi.org/10.3133/ds1102 [...]

This data release provides aggregated conservation data for farms located within the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Data were sourced from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and aggregated to protect farmer privacy. The records are provided to the public to inform watershed management with the goal of reducing nutrient and sediment non-point source pollution from agricultural sources.
