Gridded SSURGO - Cropland Productivity Index (Overall) X 100

Summary

The Gridded SSURGO National Commodity Crop Productivity Index (NCCPI), version 2.0, arrays soils according to their inherent capacity to produce dryland (nonirrigated) commodity crops. Most of the NCCPI criteria relate directly to the ability of soils, landscapes, and climates to foster crop productivity. A few criteria relate to factors that can limit use of the land (e.g., surface boulders). All criteria used in the index affect crop culture and production and are referred to as factors affecting inherent productivity. Higher values represent higher capacity for production. Extent: Mississippi River Basin. IN ORDER TO CREATE A MANAGEABLE FILE SIZE, THE ORGINAL DATA WAS MULTIPLIED BY 100, THUS VALUES RANGE FROM 0 - 100.
