Summary
Priority resources are the set of biological, ecological, and cultural features and ecological processes collaboratively identified as most important, and are the focus of the PFLCC’s planning and scientific efforts. These are based on the draft set of priority resources established by the first Conservation Target Working Group of the PFLCC. The priority resources established in this working group are as follows: coastal uplands, cultural, estuarine, freshwater aquatic, freshwater forested wetlands, freshwater non-forested wetlands, hardwood forested uplands, high pine and scrub, landscape connectivity, marine, pine flatwoods and dry prairie, and working lands. The majority of these priority resources are based on priority land [...]
The majority of these priority resources are based on priority land cover classes. However, neither the cultural or landscape connectivity priority resource are included in this dataset because they do not correspond to a specific land cover class and lack other definitive spatial data.
The spatial data and extents for each of these datasets are based on the Cooperative Land Cover dataset currently managed by both FWC and FNAI. The land cover classes from this dataset were combined in order to represent each broader priority resource. These original and subsequent land cover classes can still be found inside this dataset.
Once again this set of priority resources is only a draft. Future working groups will continue to refine these priority resources and determine conservation targets for each resource.
To aid in the refinement of this draft set of PFLCC Priority Resources and development on unified Conservation Targets that will serve as metrics of success in conserving each resource.

This dataset is a draft and is intended to draw feedback and advise the PFLCC and its partners. It does not represent an authoritative determination of priority resources or conservation targets and is not yet intended to advise conservation action. Note: Data layers are in a Web Mercator projection and are optimized for web viewing, not analysis. Please download the source data for analysis purposes.
