Summary

This data set compiles all cross-sectional survey data collected along Redwood Creek during the sixty year period, 1953-2013 (note that no surveys were conducted between 1954 and 1972). Cross-sectional surveys are transects perpendicular to channel flow and are used to document sedimentation and erosion (scour and fill) in river channel beds and on streambanks.

Purpose

These cross-sectional surveys were used in determining sediment impairment in Redwood Creek as well as evaluating long-term channel response to large storms and land use. The original cross-sectional survey data were analyzed by a custom Basic software program "WINSCOUR" which outputted cross section data into .SCR files. The program is no longer compatible with current Windows versions, thus an effort of this data release project was to convert all original files to CSV format so that data is widely accessible to users.
