Summary

Water quality point measurements were collected by the U.S. Geological Survey within the main channel Willamette River and its off-channel features in the summer and autumn of 2015 and 2016. All measurements include location, time, temperature, and depth below water surface, while most also include specific conductivity, dissolved oxygen, and pH.

Purpose

These water quality measurements were collected in an effort to locate, identify, and spatially define cold water refuges along the Willamette River and therefore focus on off-channel features (alcoves, side channels, sloughs), tributary inputs, and deep main channel pools, as well as comparable main channel readings. This dataset was formed as a compilation of multiple field efforts with the similar goal of searching for locations of cold water.
