Purpose

Identify soil erosion/sediment accumulation potential for wetlands in the Rainwater Basins complex of Nebraska. Rainwater Basin wetlands without suitable grassland buffers are impacted by reduced hydrology due to water impoundment by irrigation re-use pits and sedimentation from soil erosion, in addition to chemical infilitration as a result agricultural activities that occur within their watersheds.
