Summary

This dataset represents a partial record of Rio Grande time-series flow data from locations in Dona Ana County and Sierra County, New Mexico; El Paso County and Hudspeth County, Texas; and Chihuahua, Mexico. Records from 1908 to 2010 are presented from 79 sources consisting of 11 drains, 8 canals, 6 laterals, 34 waste-ways, and 20 stream gaging stations. In 2015 the US Geological Survey obtained scanned original paper documentation from the Bureau of Reclamation El Paso Field Office and electronic Lotus 123 files of flow records from the Bureau of Reclamation Upper Colorado Region. Purpose

This data set was created as part of a U.S. Geological Survey study done in cooperation with Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) to identify data gaps of the Rio Grande flow record and to digitize existing data sets. The intended uses of this data set include, but are not limited to, analytical and numerical modeling, graphical analyses, and visualization applications.

Rights

Acknowledgement of the U.S. Geological Survey would be appreciated in products derived from these data. Users are advised to read the data set's metadata thoroughly to understand appropriate use and data limitations.
