Summary

This dataset contains repeat survey data consisting of real-time kinematic (RTK) Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) measurements of water surface elevation and channel bed topography made while wading at cross section 5 (xs5), which is adjacent to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) streamgage at Arkansas River at Parkdale, Colorado (USGS 07094500), from March 19 to March 22, 2018. The RTK GNSS surveys were performed using a local base station associated with the stream gage and Trimble R8 ® and R10 ® receivers while wading the channel at xs5. The survey data were post-processed by performing a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Online Positioning User Service (OPUS) correction of the static observations collected [...]

Purpose

These survey data were used to establish the channel bathymetry and develop a stage-area rating to compute the channel cross-sectional area as a function of gage height.
