This data release contains the source code for the 1-D Deep Ventilation (1DDV) model (written in the Matlab programming language), and the input and output data from that model that were used to simulate temperature, salinity, and dissolved oxygen (DO) at specific depths in the lake. The input data consisted of: 1. daily average surface water temperature either a. collected by thermistors (Crawford_and_Collier_2007) between 1992 and 2013 and used for calibration/validation, or b. simulated by air2water from downscaled MACA outputs of air temperature (Abatzoglou_and_Brown_2012) for future simulations following the method in Piccolroaz_et_al_2013; 2. daily average wind speed either a. collected by the National Parks...

The USGS measured photosynthetically active radiation (PAR, wavelength between 400 and 700 nanometers) at Malheur Lake, Oregon, as vertical profiles and as continuous measurements at a fixed depth, in 2017 and 2018. Malheur Lake is a large, shallow, turbid lake located in southeastern Oregon that fluctuates widely in surface area in response to yearly precipitation and climatic cycles. High suspended-sediment concentrations likely are negatively affecting the survival of aquatic plants. The PAR measurements in this data release were collected to assess PAR attenuation in the lake, and to quantify attenuation as a function of water quality (primarily turbidity). The continuous PAR measurements were collected at 10-minute...

A three-dimensional hydrodynamic model of the lower Columbia River (LCR) was constructed using the Delft3D Flexible Mesh (DFM) modeling suite to simulate water levels, flow, and seabed stresses between January 1, 2017, and April 20, 2020. This data release describes the construction and validation of the model application and provides input files suitable to run the model on Delft3D Flexible Mesh software version 2021.01. Model Description The model application was adapted from van der Steeg (2016) and Wherry and others (2019). The model domain extends between the Bonneville Dam at its upstream limit to about 130 km offshore of the river mouth in the Pacific Ocean (fig. 1). Ten equally spaced vertical sigma layers...
