In cooperation with Dallas Water Utilities (DWU), the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) measures nutrient and major-ion concentrations in selected reservoirs in north Texas. This data release documents water-quality data obtained from Ray Hubbard Lake, Grapevine Lake, Ray Roberts Lake, and Lake Lewisville during water years 2016-20. In addition to nutrient and major-ion concentrations, water-quality field properties and other selected constituents measured in the water-quality samples collected from these reservoirs are documented. Regional regression equations were calculated in Puerto Rico with generalized least squares techniques to estimate flood frequency statistics at ungaged locations using drainage area as the only explanatory variable. The island was divided into 2 regions to minimize residuals. The region division that resulted in lower and more balanced residuals runs primarily north-south near the center of the island, mostly along an 8-digit hydrologic unit code (HUC8) boundary. This dataset is a point shapefile containing water-depth points collected during a sedimention survey of Lago Guayabal conducted during the period December 11- December 14, 2017 by the Puerto Rico office of the Caribbean-Florida Water Science Center of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The goals of the survey were to determine reservoir infill sedimentation rates, generate a bathymetric map of the reservoir, and create a stage-volume relation. Periods of estimation include January through May and November through May. In 2015, the total amount of water withdrawn for recreational-landscape irrigation uses in Florida was estimated at 398 million gallons per day (Mgal/d). Withdrawals include water used for golf course and public and commercial landscape irrigation (parks, ball fields, highway medians, cemeteries, and other large-scale grass or landscaping areas) that have a consumptive water use permit from the local water management district specifically for golf course or landscape uses. This category does not include individual household lawn irrigation withdrawals. This dataset is a file of contour lines representing the estimated altitude of the water table in western Sarpy County. This dataset was developed as part of a cooperative study between the Papillion-Missouri River Natural Resources District (PMRNRD) and USGS which began in 2017. The goal of this study was to develop a hydrogeologic visualization model of western Sarpy County using GeoScene3D. In 2016, the PMRNRD contracted airborne electromagnetic surveys (AEM) of the area to be completed to better understand the stratigraphy and hydrogeology of the western Sarpy County area. ADCP data were collected on two separate occasions (May 14-15, 2013 and May 28, 2013) in the Marseilles Pool on the Illinois River using a Teledyne Rio Grande 1200 kHz Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler with integrated Trimble GPS. ADCP data was collected in reciprocal pairs along cross-sections and along roughly streamwise oriented lines between cross-sections. The data are provided in: (1) a zipped folder containing classic ascii output files exported from WinRiverII software, and a README text file indicating which files are reciprocal pairs, and which files are streamwise oriented lines (2) a zipped folder containing KML files for each transect.
These data were collected during a travel time and dissolved oxygen study along a 1-mile reach of the Blue River downstream from 58th Street in Kansas City, Missouri. LANDFIRE's (LF) 2022 update (LF 2022) Existing Vegetation Cover (EVC) represents the vertically projected percent cover of the live canopy for a 30-m cell. EVC is produced separately for tree, shrub, and herbaceous lifeforms. Training data depicting percentages of canopy cover are obtained from plot-level ground-based visual assessments and lidar observations. These are combined with Landsat imagery (from multiple seasons), to inform models built independently for each lifeform. Tree, shrub, and herbaceous lifeforms each have a potential range from 10% to 100% (cover values less than 10% are binned into the 10% value).
