This Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) GeoPackage (.gpkg) contains water-well point features and associated tables for the state of Minnesota that have been reformatted based on a USGS profile of the OGC GroundWaterML2 (GWML2) standard (https://docs.ogc.org/is/19-013/19-013.html). Additionally, the water-well records have been quality-assured to remove or nullify parts of water-well records found to be erroneous or logically inconsistent, harmonized via the assignment of common data codes in the lithologic log, and supplemented with estimates of transmissivity from the analysis of specific-capacity data. Following the 2018 eruption of Kīlauea Volcano (Neal et al, 2019) and the subsequent collapse of the Halema’uma’u crater, groundwater gradually seeped into the newly-deepened crater (Nadeau and others, 2020). Water was first observed in the crater on 7/26/2019, and the water level increased over time until 12/20/2020, when the crater again filled with lava, vaporizing the lake. In the intervening time, three sets of water samples were collected by unoccupied aircraft systems (UAS) and analyzed for water chemistry, water isotopes, and sulfur isotopes. The tabular data sets and associated maps in this data release represent water-quality data that were collected between April and November of 2017 and between July and November of 2019 to describe baseline conditions prior to or sometimes following treatments using herbicides or other methods to reduce the biomass of non-native water primrose (Ludwigia) within off-channel water bodies of the Willamette River near Albany and Keizer, Oregon. The water-quality parameters measured in this study included water temperature, specific conductance, pH, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, total chlorophyll, phycocyanin (blue-green algae pigment), and fluorescing dissolved organic matter in surface water.

Longitudinal profiles of surface water chemistry were made using a Sea-Bird SUNA optical nitrate sensor and a YSI EXO2 water quality sonde. Water from 0.1 m depth was pumped to sensors configured with flow cells from a moving boat, and data were georeferenced with a Garmin GPS and compiled on a Campbell Sci datalogger. This dataset includes field and laboratory measurements of surface waters, pore waters, sediment, and fish from Water Conservation Areas and adjacent canals of the Florida Everglades (USA). Water, sediment, and fish samples were collected from Water Conservation Areas 1 (Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge), 2, and 3 and neighboring canals between 2012 and 2019. The sites sampled in Water Conservation Areas 2 and 3 follow hydrologic flow paths. Public-supply water withdrawals in Puerto Rico have been compiled annually since 2014 as part of an ongoing effort between the Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority and the U.S Geological Survey. In 2017, the total amount of public-supply water withdrawn in Puerto Rico was estimated at 545 million gallons per day (Mgal/d) from freshwater sources. Surface-water withdrawals accounted for 488 Mgal/d (90 percent) and groundwater withdrawals accounted for 57 Mgal/d (10 percent). Population served by public-supply water systems accounted for 3.5 million people, almost 100 percent of the total population. Public-supply water withdrawals were tabulated by municipality and by public water system.

This data release contains the results from a study that characterized the concentration and quality of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) in the McKenzie River, a relatively pristine watershed in western Oregon, and its link to forming disinfection by-products (DBPs) in treated drinking water. The study aimed to identify the primary source(s) of DOC in source water for the Eugene Water and Electric Board’s (EWEB) conventional treatment plant on the McKenzie River near river mile 11, upstream of Hayden Bridge. This U.S. Geological Survey Data Release contains the associated data described in the Scientific Investigations Report, "Trends in water quality of selected streams and reservoirs used for water supply in the Triangle area of North Carolina, 1989-2013". Since 1989, the U.S. Geological Survey and a consortium of local governments have tracked water-quality conditions and trends in the water-supply reservoirs and streams in the Triangle area of North Carolina located within the upper Cape Fear and Neuse River Basins. Temporal trends in water-quality were analyzed for thirteen stream and eight reservoir sites. Seventeen water-quality parameters and constituents were examined at these sites.

A vented water-level logger was installed at site MC1 (N 47° 05’ 12.2”/W 122° 43’ 36.8”) and continuously measured water depth and temperature at 15-minute intervals from Nov 22, 2016 to Sept 6, 2017 (288 days). This site is tidally influenced and located 1.12 km from the mouth of McAllister Creek. Elevation (NAVD88) of the water surface above the sensor was surveyed by RTN-GPS. The offset to convert all water depth time-series data to water surface elevation (NAVD88) is -1.052 m. Water depth ranged from 0.69 to 4.88 m. Temperature ranged from 2.8 to 22.5 degrees C.

A vented conductivity, temperature and depth sensor (CTD, InSitu Aqua Troll) was installed at site NR1 (N 47° 04’ 16.1”/W 122° 42’ 15.5”) and continuously measured water temperature, water depth, specific conductance, and salinity at 15-minute intervals from February 11, 2016 to July 18, 2016 (159 days). Here we archive data collected during a nitrogen addition field experiment in the Sacramento River Deep Water Ship Channel. Calcium nitrate was added on 8 dates to a segment of the ship channel centered at Navigation Light 74. Prior to and following the nutrient additions, we collected water samples and sensor-based measurements at 7 sites between Navigation Light 70 and 76.
