Global climate change and sea-level rise will have profound effects on estuarine fish, shellfish and wildlife populations and their habitats. This dataset, termed "GAGES II", an acronym for Geospatial Attributes of Gages for Evaluating Streamflow, version II, provides geospatial data and classifications for 9,322 stream gages maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). It is an update to the original GAGES, which was published as a Data Paper on the journal Ecology's website (Falcone and others, 2010b) in 2010. This dataset describes Native American Ceded Tribal lands in Washington State. This data depicts trail locations in Alaska as digitized primarily from 1:24,000, 1:63,360, and 1:250,000 USGS quadrangles. The source document that represented the newest information and best geographic location was used to capture the data. All infrastructure from the primary source document was digitized and then supplemented with the information from other source documents for additional or updated infrastructure or attributes.

Trout Unlimited developed the Conservation Success Index (CSI) in order to become more strategic and effective in our conservation efforts. Using the CSI, we can quantify and map the conservation status of all native coldwater fishes so that comparisons of existing condition, threats, future security, and management opportunities can be made across watersheds, river basins, and entire species. This data set contains boundaries and tags for major geologic units in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. In addition to the polygons representing the areal extent of geologic units, it identifies major faults and continental glaciation in Alaska. The data depict the geology of the bedrock that lies at or near the land surface, but not the distribution of surficial materials such as soils, alluvium, and glacial deposits. The 303(d) Listed Impaired Waters program provides impaired water data and impaired water features reflecting river segments, lakes, and estuaries designated under Section 303(d) of the Clean Water Act (CWA). Each State will establish Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs) for these waters. In 2005, the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) adopted Canada’s Policy for the Conservation of Wild Salmon Policy (the WSP) (DFO 2005). Implementation of the WSP consists of six strategies, the first of which requires the standardized monitoring of wild salmon status. Standardized monitoring begins with the identification of species-specific Conservation Units or CUs. The CUs serve two roles under the WSP. First, each CU is, in some sense, a significant element of biodiversity that the WSP seeks to conserve and manage. Water is assigned census or non-census water using the water bodies layer. Land is assigned to forest or non-forest using existing vegetation. The Interagency Vegetation Mapping Project (IVMP) provides maps of existing vegetation, canopy cover, size, and cover type for the entire range of the Northern Spotted Owl using satellite imagery from the Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM). This area is commonly called the FEMAT area, in reference to the area's analysis by the Forest Ecosystem Management Assessment Team. As glaciers melt from climate change, their contents – namely, large quantities of freshwater, sediment, and nutrients – are slowly released into coastal ecosystems. This project addressed the impacts of melting glaciers on coastal ecosystems in the Copper River region of the Gulf of Alaska, which is home to several commercially important fisheries.
