Note: this data release is currently being revised and is temporarily unavailable. The Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) is a nation of more than thirty low-lying atolls and islands, most of which are inhabited, dispersed across an Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) over 770,000 square miles in the tropical central North Pacific Ocean. Monitoring environmental conditions for potential drought risk is challenging in such a dispersed Island nation, and current drought hazard products provide generalities regarding conditions on a broad geographic scale. A team of USGS scientists and managers of natural resources and natural hazards in the RMI used IMERG (Integrated Multi-satellitE Retrievals for GPM) satellite estimates...

A seamless map of the major groundwater areas used by community public supply wells in the United States was needed in order to describe and compute the number of equivalent people using public supply water. This goal was met by the delineation of hydrogeologic mapping units (HMUs). An HMU is a mapped polygon, within which, all public supply wells have a common source of water. The source of water can be either a national Principal Aquifer (PA) as defined in USGS (2003) or a Secondary Hydrogeologic Region (SHR) as defined in Belitz et al. (2018). Collectively, both PAs and SHRs are referred to as Hydrogeologic Regions (HRs). The common source of water can be a single HR or multiple HRs, as HRs can overlap one another....

Note: this data release is currently being revised and is temporarily unavailable. Publicly available geospatial data were identified, collated, and analyzed for a region of karst terrain extending from Albany to Buffalo, New York. A series of geospatial datasets were assembled to determine the location and extent of karstic rock; bedrock geology and depth to bedrock; average water-table configuration; surficial geology; soil type, thickness, and hydraulic conductivity; land cover; and closed depressions in the land surface First release: 2021 Revised: July 2022 (ver. 2.0) Revised: October 2022 (ver. 3.0) .
Note: this data release is currently being revised and is temporarily unavailable. An extensive archive, estimated to contain more than 3,500 historical (1925–2020) geophysical logs collected in conjunction with past studies conducted by various entities, and more than 2,000 additional donated well and geophysical logs are stored in hard-copy at the Central Texas Branch of the Oklahoma-Texas Water Science Center (OTWSC) located in Austin, Texas. This dataset addresses the need to preserve these records electronically by providing a scanned and indexed collection of 6,058 of these records in Portable Document Format (PDF) along with a public Microsoft Access database and comma-separated values (CSV) text file containing...
