Hyperspectral image data from the Snake River in Grand Teton National Park, WY, were acquired on August 23, 2015 to support research on remote sensing of rivers, particularly retrieval of water depth, and to facilitate efforts to augment an image time series for characterizing channel change along the Snake River. These data were collected by the Compact Airborne Spectrographic Imager (CASI) 1500H manufactured by ITRES Research Limited. ITRES also conducted the flight and performed the initial radiometric and geometric data processing. The data were acquired from fixed wing aircraft and have a spatial resolution (pixel sizes) of 0.5 m. The data set consists of 48 spectral bands spanning the visible and near infrared...

Airborne hyperspectral image data from the upper Sacramento River in northern California were acquired on September 14, 2017 to support research on remote sensing of rivers, particularly retrieval of water depth, and to facilitate efforts to characterize salmon habitat conditions and geomorphic change along the upper Sacramento River. These data were collected by the Compact Airborne Spectrographic Imager (CASI) 1500H, manufactured by ITRES Research Limited. The flight was conducted by Quantum Spatial, Inc. (QSI); QSI also performed the initial radiometric and geometric data processing. The data were acquired from fixed wing aircraft and have a spatial resolution (pixel sizes) of 0.5 m. The data set consists of...

U.S. Geological Survey Midcontinent Region inland bathymetric survey data are compiled to create a survey inventory providing survey records including survey system and product information, and links to survey datasets when available. Dataset footprints including this information and showing the location and extent of surveys can be downloaded as a shapefile or geodatabase, and can be accessed through Spatial Services provided here.

In 2016, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) started collecting high-resolution multibeam echosounder (MBES) data on Lake Koocanusa. The survey originated near the International Boundary (River Mile (RM) 271.0) and extended down the reservoir, hereinafter referred to as downstream, about 1.4 miles downstream of the Montana 37 Highway Bridge near Boulder Creek (about RM 253). USACE continued the survey in 2017, completing a reach that extended from about RM 253 downstream to near Tweed Creek (RM 244.5). In 2018, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Idaho Water Science Center completed the remaining portion of the reservoir from RM 244.5 downstream to Libby Dam (RM 219.9). The MBES data collected in 2016 and 2017...

Estimates of various low-flow statistics were computed at 32 ungaged stream locations throughout New Jersey during the 2020 water year using methods in the published reports, 1) Streamflow characteristics and trends in New Jersey, water years 1897-2003 (Watson and others, 2005) and 2) Implementation of MOVE.1, censored MOVE.1, and piecewise MOVE.1 low-flow regressions with applications at partial-record streamgaging stations in New Jersey (Colarullo and others, 2018). The estimates are computed as needed for use in water resources permitting, assessment, and management by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. The data release includes the stream name, location, method of estimation, drainage area,...

The Terrestrial Analogs Data Portal (TADP; https://tadp.astrogeology.usgs.gov/) has been established as a repository and data discovery portal which leverages USGS ScienceBase, a trusted long-term digital repository that provides access to all USGS data services. Creation of the TADP service is in response to a number of NASA-generated reports identifying the need for a permanent planetary analog repository which adheres to standards-based archives. Presented here is the first version of the Planetary Aeolian Analog Database (PAAD) that will be incorporated into the TADP. This dataset is focused on dune field analogs, currently comprising 45 sites from all over the world and includes a set of "core" attributes (that...

This data release contains the boundaries of assessment units, assessment input data and resulting fact sheet data tables for the assessment of undiscovered oil and gas resources in the Senegal Basin Province of northwest Africa. The Assessment Unit is the fundamental unit used in the National and Global Oil and Gas Assessment Project for the assessment of undiscovered oil and gas resources. The Assessment Unit is defined within the context of the higher-level Total Petroleum System. The Assessment Unit is shown herein as a geographic boundary interpreted, defined, and mapped by the geologist responsible for the province and incorporates a set of known or postulated oil and (or) gas accumulations sharing similar...

Within the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), three-dimensional (3D) geologic models are created as part of geologic framework studies, to support energy, minerals, or water resource assessments, and to inform geologic hazard assessments. Such models are often used within the organization as digital input into process and predictive models. 3D geological modeling typically supports research and project work within a specific part of the USGS – called Mission Areas – and as a result, 3D modeling activities are decentralized and model results are released on a project-by-project basis. This digital data release inventories and catalogs, for the first time, 3D geological models constructed by the USGS across all Mission...

To support research on dispersion in river channels, a tracer dye experiment was performed on the Kootenai River in northern Idaho, September 25-27, 2017. This data release provides in situ field measurements of Rhodamine WT dye concentration acquired during the experiment. A pulse consisting of 72.57 kg (160 pounds) of KEYACID™ Rhodamine WT dye that was 20% Rhodamine by weight was introduced into the Kootenai River channel from a single release point at the Kootenai Tribal Fish Hatchery over a period of 90 seconds ending at 20:10:40 PDT on 9/26/2017, which is equivalent to 04:10:40 on 9/27/2017 UTC. Information on the timing and location of the dye release is available from the KootenaiDyeReleasePoints.kmz Google...
