These heatmaps show a top 3 stressor or service, as ranked by participants, and the concentration of participants who reported as working in each municipality or county who also voted for that stressor or service across the landscape. This map shows the percentage of participants from each county and municipality who ranked Feral Hogs (Sus scrofa) as a top 3 ecosystem stressor in the Grassland Invasive Animal category in their region. Symbology represents the percentage of participants with 0% = dark green, 0.0001 % - 24.99% = light green, 25% - 49.99% = yellow, 50% - 74.99% = orange, 75% - 100% = red. All counties and municipalities identified by participants as areas where they work were given a tally for each...

Problem The quality of surface water has important effects on human and ecological health. Surface water is an important drinking water source and is used for swimming, fishing, and recreation, and the quality of surface water can have profound effects on the health, diversity, and resilience of ecological communities. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) is tasked by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) to monitor ambient water quality of the State. The NYSDEC is also tasked to develop Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs) for state waters that fail to meet their intended use. A critical first step in maintaining high quality of surface-water is assessment of existing...

This product was derived from a clipped portion of the ~3m spatial resolution National Elevation Dataset. The National Elevation Dataset (NED) is the primary elevation data product produced and distributed by the USGS. The NED provides the best available public domain raster elevation data of the conterminous United States, Alaska, Hawaii, and territorial islands in a seamless format. The NED is derived from diverse source data, processed to a common coordinate system and unit of vertical measure. All NED data are distributed in geographic coordinates in units of decimal degrees, and in conformance with the North American Datum of 1983 (NAD 83). All elevation values are provided in units of meters, and are referenced...

This dataset contains vegetation and land cover information for Antioch Dunes National Wildlife Refuge. It was created by visual interpretation and classification of aerial photography (National Agriculture Imagery Program) acquired in August 2014. Specifically, the NAIP imagery was segmented into polygons using eCognition Developer 9.0 software. Each segment was then classified by visually interpreting the aerial imagery. The interpretation process was facilitated by field data and geotagged field photos that were taken on the property in October 2014. No accuracy assessment was performed due to a limitation in the number of available ground control points.

GAP species range data are coarse representations of the total areal extent a species occupies, in other words the geographic limits within which a species can be found (Morrison and Hall 2002). These data provide the geographic extent within which the USGS Gap Analysis Project delineates areas of suitable habitat for terrestrial vertebrate species in their species' habitat maps. The range maps are created by attributing a vector file derived from the 12-digit Hydrologic Unit Dataset (USDA NRCS 2009). Modifications to that dataset are described here. Attribution of the season range for each species was based on the literature and online sources (See Cross Reference section of the metadata). Attribution for each...

This dataset depicts vegetation and landcover at a broad scale for Tule Lake National Wildlife Refuge. It was created through interpretation of aerial imagery (NAIP orthophotography) acquired in August 2014 by the USDA. Ecognition software was then used to create segments of the imagery and those segments were manually classified by a GIS Analyst with the help of refuge biologists and staff with expert knowledge of the local conditions. The GIS Analyst also made a reconnaissance trip to the area in the fall of 2014 to assist with image interpretation. No systematically collected field data were available to create a classification at a finer level, such as the Alliance or Associate level and so this product does...

The Hydrology Line Feature Class defines linear hydrographic features on RSL and in the region of hydrologic influence (RHI). The line feature class is composed of NHD Plus streams outside of the refuge borders in the region of hydrologic influence (RHI) and more detailed digitzed canals, ditches and streams on RSL based off 2010 National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP) 10 meter aerial imagery.

HEM events were created from fish screens, stream gages, and surface water diversions within the Lemhi SubBasin in Idaho. Data was gathered from the following sources: Idaho Fish and Game, Idaho Power, Idaho Water Engineering, and Idaho Water Resources Water Rights. The data assembled represented fish screens, water withdrawals from the stream, and flow gauging stations.

This data set depicts the facility point features (i.e. gates, boat launches, blinds) at the Colusa National Wildlife Refuge in Colusa County, California. This facilties dataset was heads-up digitized using aerial imagery. Certain facility features (gates) were snapped to the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge Complex - Roads dataset.

This dataset depicts land cover and vegetation for San Joaquin River NWR. It uses the most current version of CalVeg from the U.S. Forest Service and is clipped to the refuge boundary. This Existing Vegetation (Eveg) polygon feature class is a CALVEG (Classification and Assessment with LANDSAT of Visible Ecological Groupings) map product from a scale of 1:24,000 to 1:100,000 for CALVEG Zone 6, the Central Coast . Source imagery for this layer ranges from 1997 - 2013. The CALVEG classification system was used for vegetation typing and crosswalked to other classification systems in this database. USGS Land Use / Land Cover Anderson 1 classification system is included in the database to meet national standard...
