These data are a compilation of fishway structures collected by the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission state representatives at the request of the U.S. Geological Survey. The variables included within this dataset range from locality information and structure metadata (eg. latitude/longitude and year of construction) to metrics specifically about the fishway structure (eg. fishway width). The dataset ranges in dates of construction from 1882 to 2020 and includes fishways from all states on the eastern coast of the United States. Requests were sent to the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission state representatives to collect fishway data from the areas within their responsibility. The state representatives...
This data release is a summarization within the USGS Spatial Hydro-Ecological Decision System (SHEDS) framework of the Oregon State University PRISM Climate Group 30-year normal 800 meter resolution monthly, minimum and maximum temperature data and monthly precipitation data between 1991 and 2020. The output is a table consisting of the summarized values of these continuous variables for each local SHEDS catchment within the SHEDS Hydro-Region 2 along with a table of these variables individually processed through an upstream accumulation method for each catchment in SHEDS Region 2. This upstream accumulation method takes the local and upstream catchment values for a particular catchment, individually weighs them...

Summarization of US Geological Survey National Land Cover Database (NLCD) 2001, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2011, 2013 and 2016 Land Cover datasets with the Spatial Hydro-Ecological Decision System (SHEDS) framework. These NLCD data were summarized using the local and upstream total accumulation methods within SHEDS. These datasets contain the area in square meters covered by each land cover class within all the land cover datasets for the local SHEDS catchments along with the area-weighted sum of the local and all upstream SHEDS catchment values. The local catchment summarizations also include the percentage of the catchment that contains land cover data for the particular class being summarized.
Summarization of US Geological Survey National Land Cover Database (NLCD) 2001, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2011, 2013, 2016, and 2019 Land Cover datasets for the NLCD 2019 update with the Spatial Hydro-Ecological Decision System (SHEDS) framework. Additionally, these data were summarized into percent coverage for each land cover class within all land cover datasets for the local SHEDS catchments...

These layers are a compilation of study sites, watersheds, and areas of interest associated with the USGS Chesapeake Bay Theme 1 and Theme 2 activities. Locations in this dataset were compiled from various USGS Chesapeake Bay activities and with input from USGS scientists to indicate study areas under multiple projects associated with USGS Chesapeake Bay Science Theme 1 and Theme 2 activities. Data and areas provided here represent current and historical sites as of June 2024 to highlight activity locations and areas of interest throughout the Chesapeake Bay Watershed and may not be appropriate for detailed analysis.

This dataset includes topographic elevations (in meters) surrounding and bathymetric elevations within the upper Delaware River (USA). Bathymetric lidar data was acquired using the Experimental Advanced Airborne Research Lidar, version B. The EAARL-B is a successor instrument to the original EAARL bathymetric LiDAR sensor developed for mapping coral reef environments in clear water, but subsequently used in river mapping. Both the original EAARL and the EAARL-B are small footprint, full waveform digitizing, green wavelength (532nm) airborne laser scanners, capable of acquiring laser returns from submerged as well as subaerial topography. Improvements from the original sensor include increased sample density, increased...
Wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) is used to determine the consumption of, or exposure to, chemicals or pathogens in human populations, and is conducted by collecting representative samples of untreated wastewater (influent) to quantify pathogens shed in the population served by the sampled wastewater system. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), in collaboration with the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and other agencies throughout the federal government, initiated the National Wastewater Surveillance System (NWSS) in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to conduct WBE using analytical methods for the collection and analysis of SARS-CoV-2...

This data release is a summarization of the US Geological Survey National Land Cover Database (NLCD) 2001, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2011, 2013, 2016 and 2019 Land Cover datasets and the Landscape Ecology Lab at the University of Massachusetts Designing Sustainable Landscapes (DSL) datasets within the USGS Spatial Hydro-Ecological Decision System (SHEDS) framework. The output is a series of tables consisting of the summarized values of continuous variables and discrete variables, respectively, for each local SHEDS catchment within the SHEDS Hydro-Region 2 for both datasets. An additional output are tables of the continuous and discrete variables individually processed through an upstream accumulation method for each catchment...

Summarization of the University of Massachusetts Landscape Ecology Lab Designing Sustainable Landscapes (DSL) datasets with the Spatial Hydro-Ecological Decision System (SHEDS) framework. These DSL data were summarized using the local and upstream total accumulation methods within SHEDS. The result are two sets of data, a continuous dataset and a discrete dataset. The continuous dataset contains the average value for the local SHEDS catchments and the area-weighted sums of the averages for the local and all upstream SHEDS catchments for all continuous variables in the DSL dataset. The discrete dataset contains the area in square meters covered by each class within all discrete variables in the DSL dataset for the...
