These heatmaps show a top 3 stressor or service, as ranked by participants, and the concentration of participants who reported as working in each municipality or county who also voted for that stressor or service across the landscape. This map shows the percentage of participants from each county and municipality who ranked Increased Drought as a top 3 ecosystem stressor in the Montane Ecosystem Functionality category in their region. Symbology represents the percentage of participants with 0% = dark green, 0.0001 % - 24.99% = light green, 25% - 49.99% = yellow, 50% - 74.99% = orange, 75% - 100% = red. All counties and municipalities identified by participants as areas where they work were given a tally for each...

The Central Mojave Vegetation Map (mojveg.e00) displays vegetation and other land cover types in the eastern Mojave of California. Map labels represent alliances and groups of alliances as described by the National Vegetation Classification. The nominal minimum mapping unit is 5 hectares. Each map unit is labeled by a primary land cover type and a secondary type where applicable. In addition, the source of data for labeling each map unit is also identified in the attribute table for each map unit. Data were developed using field visits, 1:32,000 aerial photography, SPOT satellite imagery, and predictive modeling.

These data were created as part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Coastal Services Center's efforts to create an online mapping viewer depicting potential sea level rise and its associated impacts on the nation's coastal areas. The purpose of the mapping viewer is to provide coastal managers and scientists with a preliminary look at sea level rise (slr) and coastal flooding impacts. The viewer is a screening-level tool that uses nationally consistent data sets and analyses.Data and maps provided can be used at several scales to help gauge trends and prioritize actions for different scenarios. The Sea Level Rise and Coastal Flooding Impacts Viewer may be accessed at: http://www.csc.noaa.gov/slr...

This dataset depicts vegetation and land cover for Klamath Marsh NWR. It was created using eCognition software and multiple sources of imagery. Field data were also collected at two different time to assist with image interpretation/classification. Details: This dataset was created by interpreting and classifying multiple image sources. These include: July 2005 2.5 meter Quickbird multispectral imagery, July 2005 ASTER 15 meter multispectral imagery, July 2006 Landsat 30 meter multispectral imagery, and December 2005 ASTER 15 meter multispectral imagery. Images were loaded into eCognition software which created polygons based on areas with similar image features. Statistics were then created for each polygon based...

This project will conduct a synthesis of marine spatial data. An OPS staff will be hired to work with marine/coastal experts – to develop a Technical Advisory Group and gather data and input on the processes used in the marine assessment. Additionally, this project will identify key inland (terrestrial and freshwater) areas that currently have or may have in the future direct and indirect impacts on the health of the marine environment. Results of this project will be the basis for the marine component of the Landscape Conservation Design being developed by the Peninsular Florida Landscape Conservation Cooperative. Every effort will be made to build upon existing science and other ongoing projects that may be developing...

This project identifies priority areas in the Columbia Plateau Ecoregion to implement conservation strategies for riverine and riparian habitat. This is tailored towards the Arid Lands Initiative (ALI) conservation goals and objectives, and provides the foundation for adaptation to a changing climate. This project adopts a “zoned” approach to identifying focal areas, connectivity management zones and zones for riparian habitat and ecological representation. Through a series of workshops and webinars, the ALI articulated its freshwater conservation goals and targets. Key aspects of these goals included: a focus on non-anadromous salmonid (salmon and steelhead) species, include riparian birds and waterfowl as key...
This map service was created to assemble oil and gas well information, reflecting current conditions from 2002-2008, for a comprehensive inventory of energy data pertinent to the Wyoming Landscape Conservation Initiative decision-making process. These data are available as online resources for scientists, resource managers engaged in the Initiative, and other researchers. The GIS data and map documents created for this study are available for interactive analysis and/or download at the Energy Geoscience Center website: http://energy.usgs.gov/RegionalStudies/SouthwesternWyomingHomepage.aspx
