National Fish Habitat Action Plan (NFHAP) 2010 HCI Scores and Human Disturbance Data (linked to NHDPLUSV1) for Great Lakes Basin Fish Habitat Partnership This shapefile contains landscape factors representing human disturbances summarized to local and network catchments of river reaches for the Great Lakes Basin Fish Habitat Partnership. This dataset is the result of clipping the feature class 'NFHAP 2010 HCI Scores and Human Disturbance Data for the Conterminous United States linked to NHDPLUSV1.gdb' to the boundary of the Great Lakes Basin Fish Habitat Partnership. Landscape factors include land uses, population density, roads, dams, mines, and point-source pollution sites. Changes in climate are expected to lead to additional impacts in stream habitats and fish assemblages in multiple ways, including changing stream water temperatures. To manage streams for current impacts and future changes, managers need region-wide information for decision-making and developing proactive management strategies. The data were compiled through efforts of Michigan State University for the 2010 National Fish Habitat Action Plan (NFHAP) and with support from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Aquatic GAP Program.
