This data release contains about 60 million point cloud data points collected during 27 scans of a section of the western shoreline of the Shinnecock Peninsula in Suffolk County, New York. Data were collected during July and October of 2022. Data are provided as .las files with points classified as either bare earth (GROUND_SN_BRIC_BL_2022_v03.0 (2).las), vegetation (VEGETATION_SN_BRIC_BL_2022_v03.0.las) or unclassified (DEFAULT_SN_BRIC_BL_2022_v03.0.las). Users are encouraged to read the metadata and Noll and others (2024) to understand how the data were collected, registered, and classified.

Benthic macroinvertebrate samples to evaluate before- and after-culvert construction phases were collected at seven study sites. Samples were collected in two reaches at each site, one upstream and one downstream of the culvert installation. Biological data for all seven sites (14 sample reaches) are included in this data release. In the summer of 2011, samples were collected from upstream and downstream reaches at six stream sites. Samples from Oakmulgee Creek, Northington Branch, Lye Branch, Mill Creek, and Kanetuche Creek represented conditions before culvert construction. This child item dataset contains a shapefile that delineates ice-margin positions in the Owasco Inlet watershed and surrounding area. Ice positions mostly represent pauses during the final retreat of the ice sheet from the area. Ice-margin positions are delineated by moraines (mostly till) in upland areas and by ice-contact deposits in the valleys.

During 2017 and 2018, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Idaho National Laboratory Project Office, in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), drilled and constructed borehole USGS 145 (USGS site 433358113042701) for hydrogeologic data collection and stratigraphic framework analyses. The well is located along the western boundary of the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) just south of highway 20. USGS 145 was continuously cored from approximately 3 to 1,368 feet below land surface (BLS), and had water level of 704.73 ft BLS directly after drilling. Field measurements of flow depth and velocity and river discharge were collected from two cross-sections on the Blue River in Colorado using an acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP). These data were used to assess the accuracy of surface flow velocities inferred from thermal image time series, acquired from an unmanned aircraft system (UAS), via particle image velocimetry (PIV). In 2016, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) started collecting high-resolution multibeam echosounder (MBES) data on Lake Koocanusa. The survey originated near the International Boundary (River Mile (RM) 271.0) and extended down the reservoir, hereinafter referred to as downstream, about 1.4 miles downstream of the Montana 37 Highway Bridge near Boulder Creek (about RM 253). USACE continued the survey in 2017, completing a reach that extended from about RM 253 downstream to near Tweed Creek (RM 244.5). The U.S. Geological Survey contracted with Juniper Unmanned to conduct field tests of the ASTRALiTe bathymetric lidar system on the Blue River and Colorado River near Kremmling, Colorado, on October 18, 2018. The objective of this project was to assess the potential to map river bathymetry (i.e., channel bed topography) using lidar data collected from an unmanned aircraft system (UAS). The USGS Wyoming-Montana Water Science Center (WY–MT WSC) completed a report (Sando and McCarthy, 2018) documenting methods for peak-flow frequency analysis following implementation of the Bulletin 17C guidelines (England and others, 2019). The methods are used to provide estimates of peak-flow quantiles for 66.7-, 50-, 42.9-, 20-, 10-, 4-, 2-, 1-, 0.5-, and 0.2-percent annual exceedance probabilities (AEPs) for selected USGS streamgages. This data release presents peak-flow frequency analyses for selected streamgages in Carter, Custer, Fallon, Powder River, and Prairie Counties, and the Powder River Basin, based on data through water year 2022, using methods described by Sando and McCarthy (2018).

From July to November 2019, 48 environmental samples and four quality assurance and quality control samples were collected throughout the Lake Champlain and Susquehanna River Basins. Samples were collected from 10 production wells and nine domestic wells in the Lake Champlain Basin, and 14 production wells and 15 domestic wells in the Susquehanna River Basin.
