This data set is associated with an administrative report submitted to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Center for Veterinary Medicine (CVM). The project goal was to determine the effects of hydrogen peroxide on the microflora of recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS). There are few aquaculture drugs approved for use in RAS and the CVM will evaluate findings from the study to determine if hydrogen peroxide would be safe to use in RAS.
Determine the oxytetracycline hydrochloride concentrations in water samples provided by the Bozeman Fish Technology Center taken during Pennox 343 efficacy studies.
Datasets describe the outcomes of transporting Yellow Perch and Nile Tilapia at high densities under AQUI-S®20E (10% eugenol). Specifically, data describe the survival, morphometric measurements, behavior/sedation, sedative concentrations, and water chemistry for each species during live transport. There are 5 csv files associated with this study
This dataset includes data collected to determine the effects of formaldehyde on nitrification processes in biofilters of recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) from two field trials. Biofilter nitrification was monitored by measuring the levels of total ammonia nitrogen, nitrite, and nitrate in experimental aquaria containing a small biofilter before and after formaldehyde was applied to the test system.

This study evaluated the use of medicated feeds to treat furunculosis infections caused by the bacterium Aeromonas salmonicida in lake herring (Coregonus artedi, Lesueur, 1818). The objectives of this two-phase study were to (1) determine if Coregonus artedi could be adequately and consistently infected with A. salmonicida by the methods of bath immersion or intraperitoneal (IP) injection, and (2) determine if the medicated feeds Oxytetracycline Dihydrate (Terramycin® 200 For Fish) and Florfenicol (Aquaflor®) could be used for the control of furunculosis caused by A. salmonicida. These datasets include water quality, mortality, feed weights and behavior, and qPCR data collected during both phases of the study.
This dataset includes laboratory data collected to determine the effects of hydrogen peroxide on nitrification processes in biofilters of recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS). Data from the laboratory studies were used to inform methods used to conduct field trials in pilot- and commercial-scale RAS. Biofilter nitrification was monitored by measuring the levels of total ammonia-nitrogen, nitrite-nitrogen, and nitrate-nitrogen in experimental aquaria containing a small biofilter before and after hydrogen peroxide was applied to the test system. There are 4 excel workbooks associated with this data set: RASHP Range finding Trial.csv, RASHP Definitive Trial.csv, Hydrogen Peroxide Lab Studies.csv, and DO after HP...

This is the mortality and water quality data for 2 efficacy trials of medicated feed for controlling mortality in Walleye (Sander vitreus) due to motile aeromonad infections. Top-coated feed with florfenicol or oxytetracycline or control feed were administered in both trials to fingerling walleye. Daily mortality counts and water quality measurements for dissolved oxygen, pH, temperature are included as csv files.

Among the data required by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for approval of an aquaculture drug are the data that characterize the depletion of a drugs marker residue from the edible fillet tissue of fish after exposure. Eugenol is the marker residue for AQUI-S 20E, a product proposed for use as a sedative for fish.Rainbow trout (Onchorynchus mykiss; a representative cold water fish species) was exposed to AQUI-S 20E in water at a temperature of 9 C, a temperature that is representative of the lower range of temperatures where rainbow trout would be sedated. Eighty fish were exposed to a nominal AQUI-S 20E concentration of 100 mg/L for 60 min. Groups of 16 fish were sampled immediately after 60 min of...
