We investigated population dynamics in chorus frogs (Pseudacris maculata) relative to extrinsic (air temperatures and snowpack) and intrinsic (density dependence) characteristics at 2 sites in Colorado, USA. We used capture-mark-recapture (cmr) data (i.e., 1 or 0, provided here) and a Bayesian model framework to assess our a priori hypotheses about interactions among covariates and chorus frog survival and population growth rates. Files include: Cameron_Lily_cmr_NOV2020.csv, Cameron_Matthews_cmr_NOV2020.csv, and Cameron_covariates_NOV2020.csv. Data associated with paper by Kissel et al. 2021.

This data release contains the environmental geospatial raster data sets used to estimate summer roosting habitat for 4 species considered under the United States Forest Service proposed Bat Conservation Strategy (Myotis lucifugus, MYLU; Myotis septentrionalis, MYSE; Myotis sodalis, MYSO; and Perimyotis subflavus, PESU). This suite of environmental data was hypothesized to influence summer roost habitat suitability and were produced at a spatial resolution of 250 m per pixel.

Here, we present greater sage-grouse nesting habitat suitability 15-years after simulating a fire and planting of sagebrush. The planting design used here reflects the multi-year (my) habitat restoration effort where we used several moderate (sm) patches with high density (hd) planting of sagebrush. The planting was targeted for nesting habitat, and the data reflects simulated habitat conditions in 2030. Characterizing genetic structure across a species’ range is relevant for management and conservation as it can be used to define population boundaries and quantify connectivity. Here, we characterized population structure and estimated effective migration in Greater Sage-grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus). Our objectives were to (1) describe large-scale patterns of population genetic structure and gene flow and (2) to characterize genetic subpopulation centers across the range of Greater Sage-grouse. This is a spatially-explicit state-and-transition simulation model (STSM) of sagebrush-steppe vegetation dynamics for greater sage-grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus) Priority Areas for Conservation (PACs) in the Great Basin. Monitoring change in genetic diversity in wildlife populations across multiple scales could facilitate prioritization of conservation efforts. We used microsatellite genotypes from 7,080 previously collected genetic samples from across the greater sage-grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus) range to develop a modelling framework for estimating genetic diversity within a recently developed hierarchically nested monitoring framework (clusters). Genetic networks can characterize complex genetic relationships among groups of individuals, which can be used to rank nodes most important to the overall connectivity of the system. Ranking allows scarce resources to be guided towards nodes integral to connectivity. The greater sage-grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus) is a species of conservation concern that breeds on spatially discrete leks that must remain connected by genetic exchange for population persistence. The data include measurements of chlorophyll a and algal stoichiometry from benthic algae collected from Sky Pond, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado, in 2015-2017; results of nutrient diffusion experiments in Sky Pond including chlorophyll a and other pigments to identify chlorophytes, bacillariophytes, and myxomycetes, and results of a laboratory incubation using benthic chlorophytes to identify ecosystem responses (nitrogen uptake, net primary productivity, ecosystem respiration, net ecosystem productivity, and dissolved organic carbon production) under nutrient and temperature treatments.

The purpose of this data release and associated data series (Carr and Fancher, 2021) was to compile occurrence records and map the distribution of a freshwater mussel assemblage for the Bureau of Land Management Rapid Ecoregional Assessment for the Southern Great Plains. This shapefile represents the offshore grid-based sampling frame intended for use with the North American Bat Monitoring Program (NABat). The grid consists of 10 km x 10 km cells spanning the oceanic waters surrounding Mexico.
The dataset contains 11 columns of data collected 2017-2018 during a study to assess the ability of invasive Argentine Black and White Tegu (Salvator merianae) to survive in temperate climates of the southeastern USA. Lizards were individually housed in outdoor semi-natural enclosures on the campus of Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama, USA. Database contains tegu identification number, sex, and mean body temperatures as well as environmental temperatures. Temperature data was collected using micro data loggers (iButton Thermochrons) either internally implanted in lizards or placed in lizard enclosures.

This dataset contains information about 58 hatchling Burmese pythons collected in 2015 from an invasive population in southern Florida. These hatchlings were used in an experiment that assessed the effects of food availability, clutch, and sex on their growth in captivity. The hatchlings were collected as eggs from the nests of two wild pythons, assigned to High or Low feeding treatments, and their growth and meal consumption were monitored for 12 weeks. The dataset includes their hatch dates, feeding treatment groups, clutch designations, sex, weekly morphometric measurements, feeding activity, and feeding behavior.
