This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) data release provides U-Pb zircon data and geochronology for Proterozoic rocks in the Needle Mountains of southwestern Colorado and for Proterozoic rocks sampled from drill cores from Wyoming, Montana, and Nebraska. Samples from the Needle Mountains were collected in order to constrain the polyphase tectonic evolution of the area. Drill core samples are part of a larger characterization of the age and geochemical character of basement terranes in the United States.

This imagery dataset consists of 3-meter resolution, lidar-derived imagery of the Wilmington 30 x 60 minute quadrangle in parts of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, and New Jersey. It also covers part of the Delaware River Basin. The source data used to construct this imagery consists of 1-meter and 3-meter resolution Lidar-derived digital elevation models (DEMs). The lidar source data were compiled from different acquisitions published between 2013 and 2018 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the US Geological Survey (USGS). Rock samples were collected by Bryan Wathen, now at the University of Wisconsin. Muscovite, biotite, chlorite, plagioclase, and K-feldspar were analyzed by electron probe microanalysis at the U.S. Geological Survey, Reston Electron Microbeam Laboratory. The source data used to construct this imagery consists of 1-meter lidar-derived digital elevation models (DEMs). The lidar source data were compiled from different acquisitions published between 2017 and 2021. The data were processed using geographic information systems (GIS) software. The data is projected in WGS 1984 Web Mercator. Burn probability (BP) models the likelihood that a location could burn. However, predicting BP is extremely challenging, because fire behavior varies strongly among landscapes and with changing weather conditions and wildfire spread simulations are computationally intensive and require integration of data with large spatial and temporal variability. We present TRAD: Thermal traits of anurans database for the Southeastern United States, a database of thermal trait values related to physiological (critical thermal minima and maxima, preferred temperature, mass) and behavioral thermoregulation (activity period, retreat emergence temperature, basking temperature, foraging temperature minimum and maximum) for 40 anuran species found within the southeastern United States. Wildfires and housing development have increased since the 1990s, presenting unique challenges for fire management. However, it is unclear how the relative influences of housing growth and changing wildfire occurrence have contributed to risk to homes. We fit a random forest using weather, land cover, topography, and past fire history to predict burn probabilities and uncertainty intervals. Management and disturbances have significant effects on grassland forage production. When using satellite remote sensing to monitor climate impacts such as drought stress on annual forage production, minimizing these effects provides a clearer climate signal in the productivity data.
