contains an excel format and shapefile format of the vegetation survey data collected within Humboldt Bay during the summer of 2012.We recorded vegetation data within a 0.25 m2 quadrat concurrently with elevation surveys. Data were taken at every fourth (25%) elevation point (n=740 quadrats; Fig. 4). We measured height (mean and maximum, measured within 0.05 m) and visually estimated percent cover for each species within each quadrat. This allowed us to develop a relationship between plant species, elevation and tidal datum across all sites. We also characterized the most common species, which were defined as those found at>10 % of the plots. Plant species frequency was plotted relative to MHW. This comprehensive...

This map package contains four resistance surfaces, one which is the same surface at two different resolutions (30m and 90m). The resistance surfaces were used in Linkage Mapper and Omniscape to model naturalness connectivity in Southwest Washington. Naturalness resistance values from all the inputs can be found in the report methodology. We made three different resistance surfaces, using the data inputs, found here, for testing in sensitivity analyses. For the first, we started with a conventional methodology for creating resistance surfaces (Using Gnarly Landscape Utilities), and then combined this result with nuanced layers about road impacts and building density impacts. These nuanced layers have continuous numerical...

These layers were produced as part of the WGA/LCC Riparian Mapping Project, which identified riparian location, condition, and climate adaptation potential, for the Pacific Northwest, USA. These layers identify potential riparian areas (i.e., near-stream valley bottoms; Theobald et al. 2013) that span large temperature gradients, have high canopy cover, low solar insolation, and low levels of human modification – characteristics expected to facilitate climate-induced species range shifts and provide micro-climatic refugia from warming. Detailed description of the project rationale, methods, and resulting layers may be found in Krosby et al. (2014). References: Krosby, M., Norheim, R., Theobald, D. M., and B. H....

This project supported a bi-national workshop bringing together researchers and practitioners from across the range of the NPLCC. The workshop was hosted by Simon Fraser University in Greater Vancouver February 24-26, 2014 and furthered the work of the two previous workshops on transboundary data and analysis hosted by the Alaska Coastal Rainforest Center in Juneau.

The North Pacific Forest Landscape Corridor and Connectivity Project utilized a landscape connectivity simulator (UNICOR) and a genetic simulation program (CDPOP) to model the functional (dispersal and genetic) connectivity in the North Pacific Landscape. The outputs from these programs indicated areas with high potential for landscape and genetic isolation and low probability of dispersal and colonization. In addition, this project was designed to provide spatially-explicit predictions of current and potential future patterns of fragmentation, prioritization of keystone corridors for protection and enhancement, and identification of places that may require habitat restoration or assisted migration to maintain viability....
