For thousands of years, Pacific lamprey and Pacific eulachon have been important traditional foods for Native American tribes of the Columbia River Basin and coastal areas of Oregon and Washington. These fish have large ranges – spending part of their lives in the ocean and part in freshwater streams – and they require specific environmental conditions to survive, migrate, and reproduce. For these reasons, Pacific lamprey and Pacific eulachon are likely threatened by a variety of climate change impacts to both their ocean and freshwater habitats. This dataset is a subset of the national U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Corporate Master Table (CMT) for the Pacific Southwest Region. The CMT is the official source of Service organization codes and related information. Information in the CMT includes, but is not limited to, organization codes, Federal Budget Management System, FBMS, cost center codes, organization names, fire unit identifiers, program names, mailing and physical/shipping addresses, telephone and fax numbers as well as latitude and longitude coordinates.

The goal of this project is to enable and enlist our partners to address information needs identified in the Pacific Lamprey Conservation Agreement to promote Pacific Lamprey conservation. This will be accomplished by: 1) collaboratively collecting occupancy and distribution data; and 2) providing a Pacific Lamprey data clearinghouse for all partners.

This data layer defines Pacific Southwest Region endangered species office leads for species consultations and support. This data was defined based on an internal 2014 US Fish and Wildlife Serviceas inter-office Memorandums of Understanding. This boundary generally reflects which individual offices will have jurisdiction for endangered species consultations and support.
