The NYCDEP Stream Management Program (SMP) is responsible for developing stream management plans for NYC water supply watersheds in the Catskill Mountains, New York State. This mostly forested region of Pleistocene glacial deposits over sedimentary rocks ranges in elevation from approximately 600 to 4,120 feet above sea level; average annual precipitation ranges from 36 to >60 inches/year. The SMP uses fluvial geomorphology as a framework for stream assessment, restoration and monitoring. Bankfull discharge, a common surrogate for channel forming discharge, forms a basis for assessing and classifying stream morphology (Rosgen, 1994). The SMP documented bankfull discharge and associated stream geometry for 41 cross...

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is providing an online map of water-table altitude contours in the upper glacial and Magothy aquifers on Long Island, New York, April-May 2013. USGS serves this map and geospatial data as a REST Open Map Service (as well as HTTP, JSON, KML, and shapefile), so end-users can use the map and data on mobile and web clients. A companion report, U.S. Geological Survey Scientific Investigations Map 3326 (Como and others, 2015; http://dx.doi.org/10.3133/sim3326) further describes data collection and map preparation and presents 68x22 in. PDF versions, 4 sheets, scale 1:125,000. This polyline shapefile consists of digital contours that represent the water table altitude in the upper...

This USGS data release contains 7Q10 and 30Q10 [lowest annual 7-day and 30-day average streamflow that occurs (on average) once every 10 years] statistics at 292 USGS streamgages in or adjacent to New York State excluding Long Island. all_sites_wstats.csv - includes 7Q10 and 30Q10 values for all sites and includes information on results from the trend analysis and which sites have daily exceedance probability values available. site_regulated_7day_exc_perc#.csv and site_regulated_30day_exc_perc#.csv files include daily exceedance probability values for all altered sites that were not suitable for calculating low flow statistics. R scripts used to compile and screen streamgage datasets of daily flow, perform...
