Bathymetric change grids covering the periods of time from 1934 to 2011, from 2011 to 2018, and from 1934 to 2018 are presented. The grids cover a portion of the Mokelumne River, California, starting at its terminus at the San Joaquin River and moving upriver to the confluences of the north and south branches of the Mokelumne. Positive grid values indicate accretion, or a shallowing of the surface bathymetric surface, and negative grid values indicate erosion, or a deepening of the bathymetric surface. Bathymetry data sources include the U.S. Geological Survey, California Department of Water Resources, and NOAA's National Ocean Service.

Bathymetric change grids covering the periods of time from 1992 to 1998 and from 1994 to 2004 are presented. The grids cover a portion of the Sacramento River near Rio Vista, California, extending partially upstream on Cache and Steamboat sloughs by the Ryer Island Ferry, as well as continuing up the Sacramento River towards Isleton. Positive grid values indicate accretion, or a shallowing of the surface bathymetric surface, and negative grid values indicate erosion, or a deepening of the bathymetric surface. Bathymetry data sources include the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, California Department of Water Resources, and NOAAs National Ocean Service.

This digital elevation model provides a tool for calibrating tsunami risk to observations of the 1945 Makran tsunami in Karachi Harbour. The DEM bathymetry is derived from soundings made mainly during the first eight years after the tsunami. Although deficient in portraying intertidal backwaters and upland topography, the DEM accurately depicts the sheltered setting of one of the two tide gauges that recorded the 1945 tsunami.

Understanding how sea-level rise will affect coastal landforms and the species and habitats they support is critical for crafting approaches that balance the needs of humans and native species. Given this increasing need to forecast sea-level rise effects on barrier islands in the near and long terms, we are developing Bayesian networks to evaluate and to forecast the cascading effects of sea-level rise on shoreline change, barrier island state, and piping plover habitat availability. We use publicly available data products, such as lidar, orthophotography, and geomorphic feature sets derived from those, to extract metrics of barrier island characteristics at consistent sampling distances. The metrics are then incorporated...

Marine geophysical mapping of the Queen Charlotte Fault in the eastern Gulf of Alaska was conducted in 2016 as part of a collaborative effort between the U.S. Geological Survey and the Alaska Department of Fish and Game to understand the morphology and subsurface geology of the entire Queen Charlotte system. The Queen Charlotte fault is the offshore portion of the Queen Charlotte-Fairweather Fault: a major structural feature that extends more than 1,200 kilometers from the Fairweather Range of southern Alaska to northern Vancouver Island, Canada. The data published in this data release were collected along the Queen Charlotte Fault between Cross Sound and Noyes Canyon, offshore southeastern Alaska from May 18 to...

This part of DS 781 presents data for the acoustic-backscatter map of Offshore of Aptos map area, California. Backscatter data are provided as two separate grids depending on mapping system and processing method. This metadata file refers to the data included in "BackscatterB_EM300_OffshoreAptos.zip," which is accessible from https://doi.org/10.5066/F7K35RQB. These data accompany the pamphlet and map sheets of Cochrane, G.R., Johnson, S.Y., Dartnell, P., Greene, H.G., Erdey, M.D, Dieter, B.E., Golden, N.E., Hartwell, S.R., Ritchie, A.C., Kvitek, r.G., Maier, K.L., Endris, C.A., Davenport, C.W., Watt, J.T., Sliter, R.W., Finlayson, D.P., and Krigsman, L.M., (G.R. This imagery dataset consists of 3-meter resolution, lidar-derived imagery of the Roanoke 30 x 60 minute quadrangle in Virginia. It also covers a part of the Appalachian Basin Province. The source data used to construct this imagery consists of 1-meter resolution lidar-derived digital elevation models (DEMs). The lidar source data were compiled from different acquisitions published between 2017 and 2021 and downloaded from the USGS National Map TNM Download. The data were processed using geographic information systems (GIS) software. The data spatial reference is the WGS 1984 geographic coordinate system. This representation illustrates the terrain as a hillshade with contrast adjusted to highlight local relief...
