The RTK survey, using a Trimble unit, was conducted in August 2021 in the coastal plains region (1002 area) of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, as part of a landscape vulnerability assessment. A total of six transects are included in the data, including five research sites and one transect collected at the camp site. Mean horizontal precision was 0.006m, mean vertical precision was 0.011m.

Pulsed subsidy events create ephemeral fluxes of hyper-abundant resources that can shape annual patterns of consumption and growth for recipient consumers. However, environmental conditions strongly affect local resource availability for much of the year, and can heavily impact consumer foraging and growth patterns prior to pulsed subsidy events. Thus, a consumer’s capacity to exploit pulse subsidy resources may be influenced by antecedent environmental conditions, but this has rarely been shown in nature and is unknown in aquatic ecosystems. We sampled fish at a high frequency (daily - weekly measurements) to examine the importance of hydrologic variation and a salmon pulse subsidy on the foraging patterns of two...

To meet the climate change planning and adaptation needs of Alaska managers and decision makers, I developed a set of statewide summaries of available climate change projections that can be further subset using GIS techniques for requests by management unit, watershed, or other location. This facilitates the development of tailored climate futures for decision makers’ regional or subregional management context. This file describes the source data and summaries for purposes of technical /scientific documentation. The methods and presentation for these datasets were adapted from products in previous USGS-approved IP products for the AKCASC Building Resilience Today project (e.g, Community of Kotlik et al. 2019)....

Data from high frequency sampling of multiple carbon forms were collected in a predominately rain-fed watershed in Southeast Alaska during the main run-off season (May-October 2021). The dataset includes dissolved organic carbon, particulate organic carbon, coarse particulate organic carbon, and invertebrate biomass carbon point samples and daily stream flow. The objective of this study was to collect data on carbon export and flow to model watershed export of carbon forms.

This .zip file contains four products that will allow users to recreate the analyses and spatial data figures used in Sergeant et al. 2020, A classification of streamflow patterns across the coastal Gulf of Alaska: 1) Autoclass input and output files (provided as folders with multiple simple text files), 2) Classification data (.csv file) for individual watersheds, including Fundamental Daily Streamflow Statistics, landcover variables, and class membership, 3) Esri map package (.mpk file) that will allow users to recreate Figures 3 and 5 using ArcGIS and extract basic watershed-scale data such as watershed ID, drainage area, primary class assignment, and primary class membership probability (for users interested...
