An unmanned aerial system (UAS) was used to acquire red/green/blue (RGB) and hyperspectral image data from the American River in California November 5-7, 2018, to support research on remote sensing of rivers, specifically mapping chinook salmon spawning locations (redds) as part of an overall salmon habitat assessment program. The RGB images were acquired uisng a DJI MAtrice 210 equipped with a Zenmuse 4S optical camera. Imagery was collected along several parallel flight lines to ensure full coverage of the study reach. Burnsville Cove in Bath and Highland Counties (Virginia, USA) is a karst region in the Valley and Ridge Province of the Appalachian Mountains. The region contains many caves in Silurian to Devonian limestone, and is well suited for examining geologic controls on cave location and cave passage morphology. In Burnsville Cove, many caves are located preferentially near the axes of synclines and anticlines. This data release documents three Microsoft Excel tables (and corresponding comma separated data files) that contain estimates of tritium in precipitation data for the continental United States. Versions of this data release contain additional tritium data for more recent years. The current version has tritium data through 2022. This dataset represents 505 campsites along the Colorado River in Grand Canyon with associated debris flow probabilities calculated for approximately a 100-year period (Griffiths and others, 2004) and geomorphic attributes mapped by the U.S. Geological Survey, Grand Canyon Monitoring and Research Center (USGS-GCMRC) (Hadley and others, 2018). There is a need for additional control tools that are less expensive, readily available, and will not leave a residue after treatment. Carbon dioxide has these advantages over chemical pesticides and has demonstrated effectiveness for control of a range of aquatic invasive species, including dreissenid mussels. This dataset represents 740 tributary canyons and/or watersheds adjacent to the Colorado River in Grand Canyon with associated debris flow probabilities from 2004. Also, these data include tributarys canyon and/or watersheds to Glen Canyon and several smaller watersheds in Grand Canyon where debris flow data is currently unavailable. Historic probabilities of debris flow occurrence were estimated by modeling the known frequency distribution with drainage basin parameters observed to control the process by which debris flows initiate and travel to the river. Using high-resolution sonar technologies with geographic information systems (GIS) and object based image analysis, benthic characteristics of the Illinois River have been interpreted to support invasive carp research, monitoring and control. The study plan consisted of data collection and analysis of the Brandon, Dresden, Starved Rock, Marseilles, Peoria, La Grange and Alton reaches of the Illinois River. Reaches with larger aquatic areas (Peoria, La Grange and Alton), had areas prioritized for data collection and analysis.

This ArcGIS Add-In tool assigns telemetry receivers a “river address,” with the National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) flowlines providing the river name (analogous to a street name in a postal address) and a distance along flowline (the house number in a postal address). Using this information, it is possible to sequence receivers along a flowline. Once sequenced, receiver data can then be analyzed to identify where receivers are being bypassed by receiver tags, or if there are instances of improbable tag movement between receivers.

Migratory species often provide ecosystem service benefits to people in one country while receiving habitat support in other countries. The multinational cooperation necessary to ensure continued provisioning of these benefits by migrational processes may be informed by understanding the benefits that people in different countries derive from migratory wildlife. A hydro-economic model was developed by coupling a three-dimensional groundwater flow model of the Harney Basin, southeastern Oregon (using MODFLOW 6) with a hedonic agricultural economic model. The hydro-economic model was used to investigate a set of hypothetical future scenarios having different groundwater pumpage conditions. The model looked at conditions 30 years beyond the 2018 conditions at the end of the HBGM transient simulation. This dataset captures the Zebra Mussel dose-response to four independent toxicants and each binary mixture of those toxicants. Toxicants included EarthTec QZ, Clam-Trol CT-2 (syn. Spectrus CT1300), niclosamide, and potassium chloride. Each dose of toxicant was verified with either ICP-OES or UHPLC, depending on analyte, and comparison to a standard curve.
