These are all of the roads from the U.S. Census Bureau 2000 TIGER files. Most of the roads were digitized from 1:100,000 scale maps by the US Geological Survey. Roads added to the database after 1990 were digitized by the Census Bureau from various sources. Some roads that exactly follow county lines exist twice in the TIGER database -- once for each county that they appear in. One of each of these pairs has been removed from the version of this data set that is on the SDE server at the State Library and the statewide shapefile on the web site. The individual county shapefiles on the web site are also missing these duplicate roads, so most county shapefiles will not have all of the roads that fall exactly on...

Data was acquired during aerial surveys conducted by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) between 1977 and 2005. The aerial surveys were conducted annually to count and classify mule deer in the area. Data are used by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks in their management responsibilities to set hunting seasons, determine population trends, and identify critical habitats. Observations were recorded on data forms and locations either plotted on USFS Maps (Deerlodge National Forest) or recorded by specific location. The data represents spring observations of mule deer. It is not intended to represent overall or annual distribution. Each individual observation represents one or more animals. Density of observations...
Legal land descriptions. For examples: political and administrative boundaries, governmental units, marine boundaries, voting districts, school districts, international boundaries.
This service contains vector datasets for the UI Moscow campus published by UI Facilities Services. Most data are current only to 2005.

This dataset was developed by the Crown Managers Partnership, as part of a transboundary collaborative management initiative for the Crown of the Continent Ecosystem, based on commonly identified management priorities that are relevant at the landscape scale. The CMP is collaborative group of land managers, scientists, and stakeholder in the CCE. For more information on the CMP and its collaborators, programs, and projects please visit: http://crownmanagers.org/This geodatabase contains all freely available spatial information on trails accessible by All-Terrain-Vehicles (ATV’s) as well as utility and logging cutlines in the Crown of the Continent area. Due to the free nature of the data, it is of mixed quality...

This geodatabase of point, line and polygon features is an effort to consolidate all of the range improvement locations on BLM-managed land in Idaho into one database. Currently, the point feature class only has range improvements from Boise District (Four Rivers, Owyhee, and Bruneau Field Offices), Twin Falls District (Shoshone, Burley and Jarbidge Field Offices) and Idaho Falls District (Salmon, Challis and Upper Snake Field Offices). Range improvements are structures intended to enhance rangeland resources, including wildlife, watershed, and livestock management. Examples of range improvements include water troughs, spring headboxes, culverts, fences, water pipelines, gates, wildlife guzzlers, artificial nest...

This data set contains landscape-scale greater sage-grouse Preliminary Priority Habitat. A combination of Key Habitat (Sather-Blair et al., 2000; ISAC 2006; BLM 2012), important winter and breeding habitat, local priority areas (spatially identified by the local working groups, BLM, IDFG biologists), known migration movement corridors, the revised 2011PA polygons, and exclusion of modeled agricultural and timber lands were used to further refine the 2012 Preliminary Priority Habitat (PPH) boundaries. PPH includes three categories: 1)Sagebrush, and two priority restoration areas - (2) Perrennial grasslands, and (3) Conifer encroachment areas (see below). Specific information on methodology, etc. can be found in the...
This map service is used in MyWATERS Mapper to display the NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) permit status of facilities by state. Water pollution degrades surface waters making them unsafe for drinking, fishing, swimming, and other activities. As authorized by the Clean Water Act, the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit program controls water pollution by regulating point sources that discharge pollutants into waters of the United States. Point sources are discrete conveyances such as pipes or man-made ditches. Individual homes This map service is used in MyWATERS Mapper to display the NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) permit status...

American Indians (1990) per square mile. Derived from U.S. Census Bureau TIGER files and population counts. The original data was smoothed, and the highest resulting density in each 1-kilometer grid cell was assigned to the cell. See /gis2/montowrk/cmp/94/94nris98e.aml for the exact method used to create this grid.
This map service contains GIS data in NAD83 from the EPA Office of Water for the National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) integrated with reach-related information from the USEPA Reach File Version 3.0-Alpha release (RF3-Alpha). This service also includes hydrographic landmark features in NHD. It is available as a WMS, WFS and REST service as well as the native MapServer service. Details include symbology based on the NHD symbol set and labels for flowlines and waterbodies.
