The Geomorphic Road Assessment and Inventory Package (GRAIP) is a process and a set of tools for analyzing the impacts of roads on forested watersheds. GRAIP combines a road inventory with a powerful GIS analysis tool set to predict sediment production and delivery, mass wasting risk from gullies and landslides, stream diversion potential, culvert maintenance, and fish passage at stream crossings. Linkage Mapper uses GIS maps of core habitat areas and resistances to identify and map linkages between core areas. Each cell in a resistance map is attributed with a value reflecting the energetic cost, difficulty, or mortality risk of moving across that cell. The Coalbed Methane-Demineralization Treatment Cost (CBM-DTC) toolbox has been developed to predict the costs associated with treating Powder River Basin (PRB) coalbed methane (CBM) waters based on influent water characteristics, effluent water requirements, and the capabilities of selected technologies. These geoprocessing tools were created to help support spatial analysis and other operations in Data Basin. These tools are intended to be deployed as geoprocessing services on an ArcGIS Server that also hosts map services (their data must be hosted locally). Within Data Basin, these services are accessed via server middleware to route to and control the number of jobs per ArcGIS server. The HCA toolkit is a GIS tool designed to support regional wildlife habitat connectivity analyses by automating the process of identifying habitat concentration areas (HCAs). HCAs are areas on the landscape between which patterns of connectivity are evaluated. The habitat areas identified by this toolkit may be used as an input for Linkage Mapper to model connectivity between HCAs. We developed this tool to support the 2010 Washington Wildlife Habitat Connectivity Working Group (WHCWG) statewide connectivity analysis, and are making it public for use in other wildlife connectivity assessments.
