Topographic Ruggedness Index within 3-km radius developed using a circular focal moving window analysis.
Greater sage-grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus) have been declining both spatially and numerically throughout their range due to anthropogenic disturbance and loss and fragmentation of sagebrush (Artemisia spp.) habitats. Understanding how sage-grouse respond to these habitat alterations and disturbances, particularly the types of disturbances and extent at which they respond, is critical to designing management actions and prioritizing areas of conservation. To address these needs, we developed this spatially explicit model of the relationship between occurrence and abundance of greater sage-grouse and multi-scaled measures of vegetation, abiotic, and disturbance in the Wyoming Basins Ecoregional Assessment (WBEA)...
We studied the short-term effects of full and partial livestock grazing exclosures on Columbia Spotted Frog (CSF; Rana luteiventris) populations using a controlled manipulative field experiment with pre- and post-treatment data. This dataset includes vegetation data collected 2002-2010 and 2013 at 94 lakes and ponds in and around the Blue Mountains in eastern Oregon. Data collection followed standardized survey protocols and included annual oviposition surveys and vegetation surveys. These data allowed for quantification of CSF breeding as related to vegetation within and outside of grazing exclosures at each site.

The accurate mapping of stream locations and their flow conditions (presence or absence of surface water) is important to both understanding physical, chemical, and biological processes in streams and managing land, water, and ecological resources. The FLOwPER (FLOw PERmanence) Database is a publicly available geodataset that includes spatial locations where streamflow permanence observations (continuous flow, discontinuous flow, and dry) were recorded using the FLOwPER field survey form available in the Survey 123 and S1 mobile application. Additional information to describe the field conditions are included as part of the survey. Field observations in the FLOwPER Database have not been processed for quality control...

The 2022 Department of the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill - the appropriations bill that funds the USGS - established a regional Integrated Water Availability Assessment study program in the Great Basin of the American West. Twenty saline lakes across California, Nevada, Oregon, and Utah were identified by USGS partners as priority ecosystems. They include: California: Eagle Lake, Honey Lake, Mono Lake, Owens Lake; Utah: The Great Salt Lake and Sevier Lake; Nevada: Carson Lake, Carson Sink, Franklin Lake, Pyramid Lake, Ruby Lake, Walker Lake, Winnemucca Lake; Oregon: Lake Abert, Harney Lake, Malheur Lake, Silver Lake, Summer Lake, the Warner Lakes; California/Oregon: Goose Lake
