Model of habitat utilization by synanthropic avian predators: common ravens (Corvus corax), American crows (Corvus brachyrhynchos), and black-billed magpies (Pica hudsonia). The former two species show increasing nation-wide population trends, and common ravens in the Mojave desert have been shown to have detrimental effects on threatened desert tortoise (Gopherus agassizii) populations. Power lines are used by common ravens and other raptors for nesting and as hunting perches. Linear features such as railroads, primary and secondary roads, and irrigation channels often serve as travel routes for these predators, and expand their movements into previously unused regions. Numbers of synanthropic avian predators increase...

Communication antenna towers registered with the U.S. Federal Communications Commission's Antenna Structure Registration (ASR) program. The FCC requires that all towers >200 ft tall and towers <200 ft that are positioned in the glide path of an airport be registered with the FCC ASR program. Therefore, this data set does not necessarily depict all communication antennas actually present on the landscape. The source data are updated weekly by the FCC as new permits are issued. However, this data set is designed for a specific analysis, and is planned to remain static as of the publication date (11/06/2003).

Communication antenna towers recorded by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission's International Bureau Filing System (IBFS) - 47 CFR Parts 73/74, 23 and 25 (Earth Stations). Note that not all antennas and towers are required to be registered with the FCC. Therefore, this data set does not necessarily depict ALL communication features actually present on the landscape. The source data are updated daily by the FCC as new permits are issued. However, this data set is designed for a specific analysis, and is planned to remain static as of the publication date (11/06/2003).

Greater sage-grouse population components devrived using an 18-km maximum connection distance. Analysis was conducted using the CONEFOR SENSINODE 2.2 software package and this dataset was developed from lek data obtained from the state wildlife agencies. Components containing < 5 leks have been removed in order to protect the location of single or small groups of leks.

Probability map of Crested wheatgrass occurrence in relation to vegetation, abiotic, and anthropogenic features. These data were released prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the USGS’s policy dictating the review, approval, and release of scientific data as referenced in USGS Survey Manual Chapter 502.8 Fundamental Science Practices: Review and Approval of Scientific Data for Release.
Probability map of cottontail occurrence in relation to vegetation, abiotic, and anthropogenic features. These data were released prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the USGS’s policy dictating the review, approval, and release of scientific data as referenced in USGS Survey Manual Chapter 502.8 Fundamental Science Practices: Review and Approval of Scientific Data for Release.
IMPORTANT NOTE: More recent versions of these data release are available at this link. This dataset includes spatial locations where streamflow permanence observations (continuous flow, discontinuous flow, and dry) were recorded using the FLOwPER (FLOw PERmanence) field survey available in the Survey 123 and S1 mobile application. Additional information to describe the field conditions are included as part of the survey. Field observations in the FLOwPER Database have not been processed for quality control including spatial data accuracy or association with a stream network such as the National Hydrography Dataset. Streamflow permanence observations are collected from several governmental and non-governmental organizations...
From 2003-2018, USGS researchers and collaborators conducted mark-recapture studies of the boreal toad at the Lost Trail National Wildlife Refuge in northwestern Montana, USA. The datasets included here contain information on individual toad capture history, body size, and disease status. These data were collected annually over the 16-year period at up to 11 breeding sites per year on the refuge. We include datasets for (1) male toad captures over time, (2) female toad captures over time, (3) male disease status (tested - positive or negative, or not tested in a given year), (4) all toad length and weight data over time, and (5) male toad size and body condition over time.

Western North America terrestrial reptile climate-niche rasters and summary data - Crotalus molossus
This data release supports the referenced publication 'Climate futures for lizards and snakes in western North America may result in new species management issues' in this metadata record. Data included in this release includes raster data outputs and resulting summaries from the analyses, described in the processing steps of this metadata record. In summary this release includes information for 129 species and 1 genera of snakes and lizards in western North America. There are 7 rasters for each species and 6 summary rasters for the entire dataset, to total 916 rasters. For each species, rasters display a projected climate-niche at 6 time scenarios and 1 comparison between two scenarios. The summary rasters display...
