Water-quality data for groundwater samples collected from 4,824 sites between 1991 through 2018, and ancillary data and information on sampled wells and principal aquifers, were used to assess the occurrence and distribution of strontium in U.S. groundwater from 32 principal aquifers. This data release includes one tab-delimited text file detailing these data. Table: Chemical data from the U.S. Geological Survey National Water Information System and ancillary data considered for assessment of strontium concentration in U.S. groundwater.

Groundwater-quality data were collected from 502 wells as part of the National Water-Quality Assessment Project of the U.S. Geological Survey National Water-Quality Project and are included in this data release. Most of the wells (500) were sampled from January through December 2015 and 2 of them were sampled in 2013. The data were collected from five types of well networks: principal aquifer study networks, which are used to assess the quality of groundwater used for public water supply; land-use study networks, which are used to assess land-use effects on shallow groundwater quality; major aquifer study networks, which are used to assess the quality of groundwater used for domestic supply; enhanced trends networks,...
This data set includes sample information and results for third-party performance assessment samples analyzed for hormones and pharmaceuticals during the same general time period as environmental samples collected by the National Water-Quality Assessment (NAWQA) Project for a study of groundwater resources used for drinking-water supply across the United States, 2013 through 2015. Hormone and pharmaceutical results are provided for spiked and unspiked samples submitted by the Quality Systems Branch (QSB) Organic Blind Sample Project (OBSP), providing information regarding analyte recovery and occurrence of false positive and false negative results. Included in this data release are the following data tables: Table...

Groundwater-quality data were collected from 748 wells as part of the National Water-Quality Assessment Project of the U.S. Geological Survey National Water-Quality Program from May 2012 through December 2013. The data were collected from four types of well networks: principal aquifer study networks, which assess the quality of groundwater used for public water supply; land-use study networks, which assess land-use effects on shallow groundwater quality; major aquifer study networks, which assess the quality of groundwater used for domestic supply; and enhanced trends networks, which evaluate the time scales during which groundwater quality changes. Groundwater samples were analyzed for a large number of water-quality...
Groundwater-quality data were collected from 648 wells as part of the National Water-Quality Assessment Project of the U.S. Geological Survey National Water-Quality Program and are included in this report. Most of the wells (514) were sampled from January through December 2016 and 60 of them were sampled in 2013 and 74 in 2014. The data were collected from seven types of well networks: principal aquifer study networks, which are used to assess the quality of groundwater used for public water supply; land-use study networks, which are used to assess land-use effects on shallow groundwater quality; major aquifer study networks, which are used to assess the quality of groundwater used for domestic supply; enhanced...
Samples for analysis were selected from 1) archived rotosonic cores drilled by the Minnesota Geological Survey and archived at the Lands and Minerals Drill Core Library, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Hibbing, Minnesota, USA; or b) freshly collected rotosonic cores, collected on-site at the time of coring. Cores in the sample archive are stored in wooden core-boxes in ambient air. Cores have supporting geology, stratigraphy, geochemistry, and hydrogeology data as published in County Geologic Atlases, Parts A and B, by the Minnesota Geological Survey (MGS) and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (MDNR); or in Regional Hydrogeologic Assessments, MGS. Included in this data release are: Core_Chem_Locations.pdf:...

This data release includes tables and plots of results for pesticide compounds (pesticides and degradates) analyzed in groundwater samples collected by the USGS National Water-Quality Assessment Project during water years 2013-18 and in associated quality-control samples that are used to assess the quality of the reported pesticide results. All samples were analyzed by the USGS National Water Quality Laboratory (NWQL) using laboratory schedule 2437. The table of groundwater data includes pesticide results as reported by the laboratory, along with results that represent the application of censoring levels at the 90-percent upper confidence limit of the 95th percentile of laboratory blank concentrations determined...
Groundwater samples were collected from 60 public supply wells in the Colorado Plateaus principal aquifer. Water quality evaluations of groundwater for drinking water at public supply depths were made with the purpose of summarizing the current quality of source water (that is, untreated water) from public supply wells using two types of assessments; (1) status: an assessment that describes the current quality of the groundwater resource, and (2) understanding: an evaluation of the natural and human factors affecting the quality of groundwater, including an explanation of statistically significant associations between water quality and selected explanatory factors. To provide context for water-quality data, constituent...

This dataset contains data tables of laboratory quality-control data associated with environmental samples analyzed for microbiological constituents at the Ohio Water Microbiology Laboratory of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) during federal fiscal years 2012-2017 (October 1, 2011 through September 30, 2017). The environmental samples were collected across the United States by the USGS National Water Quality Assessment Project and other projects in Water Science Centers. The microbiological constituents include total coliforms, Escherichia coli (E. coli), enterococci, coliphage (F-specific and somatic), aerobic endospores, and actinomycetes. These quality-control data can be used to assess the quality of microbiological...

From October 2017 through September 2022, the National Water Quality Network (NWQN) monitored 110 surface-water river and stream sites and more than 1,800 groundwater wells for a large number of water-quality analytes, for which associated quality-control data and corresponding statistical summaries are included in this data release. The quality-control data—for samples that were collected in the field (at all 110 surface-water sites, 350 groundwater wells, and 16 quality-control-only sites), prepared in the laboratory, or prepared by a third party—can be used to assess the quality of environmental data collected by the NWQN through the estimation of bias and variability in reported results. The general analyte...
