We report the site number and locations of 5798 streamflow gages displaying zero flow for at least one day in their daily records. 4891 of these gages are from the GRDC network, and 906 are USGS gages in the contiguous US. Additionally, provisional data for two USGS gages 1) Rio Puerco near Bernardo, NM (USGS site: 08353000) and 2) Agua Fria River Near Mayer, AZ (USGS site: 09512500) are provided to illustrate zero flow record behaviors.

These digital images were taken at select locations over the Potomac River using 3DR Solo unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) in October 2019. These images were collected for the purpose of evaluating UAS assessment of river habitat data such as water depth, substrate type, and water clarity. Each UAS was equipped with a Ricoh GRII digital camera for natural color photos, used to produce digital elevation models and ortho images, a MicaSense RedEdge multi-spectral camera that captures five specific bands of the visible spectrum (blue, green, red, rededge, and near-infrared), which can be used to classify vegetation, or FLIR Vue Pro R 640 13mm radiometric thermal camera that provides temperature data embedded in every...
This metadata record documents 11 comma delimited tables representing the amount of reported best management practice (BMP) implementation for the years from 1985 to 2014 at three geographic scales: county or land-river modeling segment, River Input Monitoring (RIM) station drainage areas, and the entire Chesapeake Bay Watershed (CBWS). Data originated from the Chesapeake Bay Watershed jurisdictions including Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Delaware, New York, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Data were reported to the Chesapeake Bay Program for an annual review of progress toward meeting nitrogen, phosphorus, and sediment reduction goals.
The file "Chloride_specific_conductance_regression_model_forms_for_estimating_high-frequency_chloride_concentrations.csv" contains the regression equation forms for two types of regressions: 1) single linear (SLR) and 2) piecewise (or segmented; SEG) regression between specific conductance (SC) and chloride (Cl) concentrations for 56 USGS water-quality monitoring stations across the eastern United States, plus four regional regressions developed by pooling data for sites within a region (see Moore and others (in review) for more information). Some sites, and all regions, have both SLR and SEG models reported in this table. The analysis included in the Moore and others (in review) study used results from the SLR...

This tabular data set represents the average number of consecutive days with measurable precipitation for the period between 1871 and 1997, compiled for two spatial components of the NHDPlus version 2 data suite (NHDPlusv2) for the conterminous United States; 1) individual reach catchments and 2) reach catchments accumulated upstream through the river network. This dataset can be linked to the NHDPlus version 2 data suite by the unique identifier COMID. The source data is from the United States Historical Climatology Network Daily Temperature, Precipitation, and Snow Data for 1871-1997, compiled by the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL, 1999) and further processed by the USGS (Dave Wolock, written communic., 2001)....

This dataset can be linked to the NHDPlus version 2 data suite by the unique identifier COMID. The source data for the 30 year average (1961-1990) number of days of measurable precipitation per month was provided by the Environmental Protection Agency and is included with this data set (prism-wetdays-monthly.zip provided by Ryan Hill, EPA, written commun., 2012). Units are days...

This tabular data set represents monthly average temperature values (Celsius) described in Wolock and McCabe (2018), compiled for the NHDPlus version 2 data suite (NHDPlusV2) for the conterminous United States. Linkage of the temperature data with NHDPlusV2 is achieved through the common unique identifier COMID. The temperature values are estimated both for: 1) individual reach catchments and 2) reach catchments accumulated upstream through the river network. The reach catchment information characterizes data at the local scale, whereas the catchments accumulated through the river network characterize cumulative upstream conditions. The network-accumulated values are derived using two methods: 1) divergence routing...

To estimate changes in nitrogen, phosphorus, and sediment loads from technologies and management practices (TMPs), the Chesapeake Bay Program Partnership's CAST model was used to run scenarios with and without TMPs for years between 1985 and 2020 for the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Scenarios were run using the native model segmentation of land-river segments and downscaled to the National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) plus version 2 catchments. The land-river segment loads were disaggregated to the National Hydrography Dataset Plus, Version 2.0 using methods described in "CAST Data Input Disaggregation from County and Land-River Segment Scale to National Hydrography Dataset Plus". The estimated total nitrogen (TN), total...
