These data are associated with an article published in Global Ecology and Conservation (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.gecco.2020.e01173) that describes climate's cascading effects on disease, predation, and hatching sucess in the Yosemite toad (Anaxyrus canorus). The Yosemite toad currently is federally listed as threatened under the U.S. Endanered Species Act based upon reported population declines and vulnerability to climate and other global-change factors. The species occurs only in California’s central Sierra Nevada at medium to sub-alpine elevations. Lands throughout its range largely are protected from development, but climate and other global-change factors potentially can limit populations.

This data set contains information on detections of anuran (i.e., frogs and toads) species at six different management areas in the midwestern United States from 2002 to 2012. From 2002 to 2005 anuran communities were surveyed during the day using multiple methods at individual study wetlands—visual encounter surveys, dip net surveys, and calling surveys using multiple observers in most cases. Data are presented from each survey. From 2008 to 2012 amphibian communities were surveyed through detections of vocalizing anurans recorded by automated recording units. Automated recording units recorded five minutes at the top of every hour for the entire field season (typically April through October). Recorder data are...
Telemetry data for 59 Northern Leopard Frogs (Lithobates pipiens) breeding in ponds in Houston and Winona Counties, MN; 2001-2002. Agricultural intensification is causing declines in many wildlife species, including Northern Leopard Frogs (Lithobates pipiens). Specific information about frog movements, habitat selection, and sources of mortality can be used to inform conservation-focused land management and acquisition. We studied Northern Leopard Frogs in southeastern Minnesota, part of the Driftless Area ecoregion, characterized by hills and valleys and a mix of agriculture, forests, small towns and farmsteads. In this area, small farm ponds, originally built to control soil erosion are used by the species for...
