Zebra and quagga mussel veligers were exposed to eleven distinct cultures (isolates) of cyanobacteria representing Anabaena, Aphanizomenon, Dolichospermum, Microcystis, and Planktothrix species and the cyanotoxin microcystin to determine the lethality of cyanobacteria on dreissenid veligers. Six-day laboratory bioassays were performed in microplates using dreissenid veligers collected from the Detroit River, Michigan, USA. Fifteen fires from the Chronosequence dataset (see Knutson et al. 2014) were visited in 2012 and 2013 and surveyed for cover of lichens and mosses. Fires were selected to cover the range of average precipitation for each of three water years following fire, fire severity, time since fire, season of ignition, total acres burned and grazing intensity. The dataset consists of a shapefile of measurements of surface velocity magnitude and direction at the Colorado River at Compact Point near Lees Ferry, AZ, on March 18, 2021. The dataset contains approximately 1.2 km of river length. The surface velocity measurements were made by applying Large-Scale Particle Image Velocimetry (LSPIV) techniques, using overlapping videos collected by small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS). Total time to capture all videos was less than one hour, and all frames (except frame 1, see Process Steps below) from all videos were used. Additional attributes, including divergence, curl, shear, and strain, were calculated from the surface velocity measurements and are included in the dataset.
This dataset was used to summarize and analyze the mortality factors recorderd on dead trees in the Sierra Nevada Forest Dynamics Plot Network, which is managed by the Sequoia and Kings Canyon Field station of the U.S. Geological Survey's Western Ecological Research Center. Each row of the dataset represents an individual dead tree. This data release contains apatite and zircon U/Pb and fission track data for six samples collected along the Fall Line of the southeastern United States, from Virginia to the Georgia-South Carolina border. The data resolve phases of rapid exhumational cooling in the Permo-Triassic, additional cooling in the Jurassic-Early Cretaceous and slower cooling since the middle of the Cretaceous. The data are also compatible with an episode of burial/magmatic heating in the Triassic-Jurassic. Overall, these data may explain the lack of preserved Upper Jurassic-earliest Cretaceous strata beneath onshore areas of the southeastern United States.

These data describe the status of eggs in nests which had a foster egg added to them as part of an effort to relocate a common tern colony on Poplar Island. Average annual Actual Evapotranspiration (AET) rates for basins in east-central and northeast Florida from 2000 to 2017 were calculated using a water-budget balance equation. Periods of estimation include January through May and November through May. The estimates are made using up-to-date streamflow and all total nitrogen analyses available as of June 1 of the reporting year.

This USGS data release represents geospatial data for the sage-grouse habitat mapping project. This study provides timely and highly useful information about greater sage-grouse over a large area of the Great Basin. This work provides a flexible and scalable framework to assess the impacts of climate change on streamflow and stream temperature within the North Atlantic Landscape Conservation Cooperative (NALCC) region. This is accomplished through use of lumped parameter, physically-based, conceptual hydrologic and stream temperature models formulated in a hierarchical Bayesian framework.
